This is truly a delight! The whisky barrel-aged Stout at Geist Brewing Co. I can’t vouch for the other outlets but if you haven’t tried it at the factory, then you missed out! Let the beer warm up to you and hug it tight coz it’s going to uncover the notes of overripe red apple skins, whiskey soaked raisins, dried cherries, chocolate shavings, and dried figs. PS: The whisky flavors slightly overwhelmed the base characteristics of this Stout but that brought in a ton of complexity as well making it a perfect holiday ale. BEER NAME: Happy Christmas BREWERY: Cloudwater WEIGHS IN AT: 3.5% BEER STYLE: Pale SERVING STYLE: Can PURCHASED FROM: Cloudwater TASTING NOTES:Well this is thin bodied. Has a orange aroma. Well this is like diluted orange with a drop of cranberry. Which fades out fast. Ending in a watery mess of bitterness. RECOMMENDATION OUT OF 5 : 0.25 WOULD I BUY AGAIN AND WHY : well this was undrinkable. So No. I have had some pales at this percentage that I have loved. This is an horrendous attempt at beer. Malty sweet at the start with intense hop flavor and a very bitter finish. Smooth drinkability for such a hoppy beer. BJ's Committed® Double IPA isn't an entry-level craft beer. This beer packs a punch that hopheads are certain to love but know that this is a beer that you should be committed to when you order it. The rambunctious combination of hops includes Simcoe, T-45 Cascade and Columbus. This beer is an exceptionally robust IPA with no shortage of hop character and bitterness. The start is malty and sweet before the intense hops kick in closely followed by a bitter finish.
