does her best to appear she's unfazed. as if the words they spoke hadn't been something she's wondered throughout her entire life. was she a terrible person? she'll say no. excuse her behavior with whatever justification she can conjure up, but there's a part of her—deep down—that knows the truth. knows that she wouldn't be able to do what she does, abandon people the way she has, if there wasn't a least a part of her that was terrible. “ you manage to sleep just fine, ” is what she says instead, bringing a forced smile on her lips as eyes remain solely focused on them. refusing to let them know they struck a nerve: at least slightly.
