Nerd Costume Suggestions
Halloween is approaching quickly, and for the parties this year, a geek outfit can be great alternative to other costume ideas.
There are three main areas to focus on while you're designing your fantastic geek outfit: hair, clothes, and, of course, the hilarious accessories.
Dweeb Costume Hair:
There are several routes you can go with here: crazy, super-gelled, and 'cutesy.'
Perhaps the most well-known is the 'wild' look. This has been proudly displayed by Napoleon Dynamite and many others.
At the other end of the spectrum, there's the 'gelled' style - which of course would be via copious amounts of hair gel - and with a very obvious part anywhere.
For the girls there are a few choices - which of course also lend themselves well to sexy nerd costumes for girls: pigtails and untamed, and pretty much anything else. Hair bows are probably the most obvious customization you can use here.
Nerd Costume Ideas: Once again, there are some different options you can take here
-Button-down shirt - Must be buttoned all the way up!
-High-waters - Any type of pants are fantastic; pretty much any trousers will be fine. What's essential is that they cannot come within more than a couple inches or so of the ankle. These can be pulled up Steve Urkel style, but it may be overdoing things (as well as be pretty uncomfortable, and require a posture change)..
-Shoes - Any dress shoes tend to work the best.
-Sexy Skirt - Essential for any 'sexy nerd costume!'
-Doctor Jacket - For the scientist look.
-Socks - Must be pulled up as close to the knee as possible and perhaps mismatched as well.
Geek accessories: Lots to choose from here:
-Pocket protector - and name tag.
-Calculator watch
-Thick glasses - With or without tape, they should be dark, thick, and plastic.
-A tie
-Belt and/or Suspenders - A true geek needs lots of lift for those pants!
With a solid selection from those ideas you can go out in the perfect dork outfit - and might even already have everything you'd need in your house!
