What's your take with the next Arkham game set in the Silver age Batman? I'm pretty sure you've heard of it, being an avid gamer and all. Are you looking forward to it?
I'm gonna be brutally honest here, I'm actually more keen for Rocksteady studios other rumoured projects.
Shortly after Arkham City released, Rocksteady came out and said before they add a third Batman game to the series, they wanted to bring out a game of a similar style, except utilising either the Superman or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universes. Now, Superman is notoriously hard to do well, regardless of on what medium, and although I have no doubt Rocksteady would make a kickass Superman game; the thought of a free-roam, RPG, Arkham City-esque TMNT game would make me really... lose my wig.
However, your question was about Rocksteady's activities with Batman specifically. I reckon a Silver Age Batman game would be freaking sweet, although I think it's unlikely. The theme for superheoes at the moment in non-comic media is very modern, and I believe Rocksteady will continue that trend. For those who have played through the game to it's completion, they'll know that the way both Azrael's and Hush's side-quests finished, there's definite posibilities for sequel material there. Plus, the way both Azreal and Hush 'exit' their story arcs within Arkham City, it definitely implies that their plans exceed into Gotham City as a whole, and that trend of expansion would also be inline with the series' current growth.
What do you prefer Warner Bros works on next, a Bat-Family movie or a Justice League one?
Justice League for sure, but I would prefer they built it up a bit more, get a Wonder Woman out, a better Green Lantern or even better yet, a well done Flash movie would be sick.
It's too early for a new team to just go ahead and bust out a Bat Family movie, TDKR is still fresh in all our minds and like the Justice League movie I think a Bat Family movie would require a couple of individual films to set the context for it a bit better.
Let's keep this Q&A going, shall we? Who is your favorite Batman Universe character excluding The Caped Crusader himself? And why?
For sure dude it gonna make filling out my about section quite easy haha.
My favourite non Batman character in his universe would have to be the Joker. I know it's cliche but he, like his enemy is such an adaptable and interesting character that it makes him an absolute joy to read. His adaptations by Mark Hamil, Heath Ledger as well as the various writers like Scott Snyder in The New 52 are always so different and often create so many varying degrees of his persona depending on the writer/actor.
I personally did my year 12 major Drama work playing the Joker in an 8 minute monologue. I drew inspiration from Ledger, Hamil, and Paul Dini's writings in Mad Love while trying to put a slightly unique spin on it myself. It was so fantastic to be him, he's an absolutely fascinating character from whatever angle you look at him.
Do you consider Batman as the greatest superhero of all time? If yes(well duh), tell us why. I have my own answers but I, and maybe most of your followers, wanna know yours. (If I already sent this same message, please disregard this one. My internet connection went nuts just before I sent it)
Do I think he's the greatest superhero of all time? Probably not. Given the literal definition of Superhero he obviously doesn't have any major genetic advantages over other heroes in the Marvel/DC Universe.
However, do I consider him the greatest fictional character/hero in comics? Without question. The Batman Universe is so broad that there are endless possibilities of story to explore, meaning that Batman himself has been able to overcome some of the most challenging obstacles found in comic history. (To my knowledge of comics at least.)
Not to mention the character himself. He isn't just a fictional character, he's an icon of fiction. His image and for what he stands for is so widely recognized that he is universally appreciated in almost every form of media out there. From references in rap songs to advertising, not to mention his universe being so successfully recorded and received on almost every media format to exist, gives Batman a level of universal appreciation that characters like Superman or Spider-Man can no achieve as effectively.
It's so great that he can be accepted and appreciated at any level. He has been loved for decades through comics, but despite his origins, you don't need to understand his comic beginnings to love the character. I first fell in love with him and his Universe through games, then I watched the animated series, animated movies, Nolan's Burton's and all the other Batman films, and comics was the most recent medium that I have used to appreciate him. Some people fell in love with him through movies, some through the TV shows, I think it's that level of adaptability that has made him the legend he is today, and certainly why I think he's the greatest comic character of all time. Because there's so many ways for that to be proven to me.
