It’s late. Very late. Omnics didn’t require the same kind of rest that humans did - not in the same way. But an evening to rest, defrag, to simply process- it was beneficial for anyone. Which is why the monk finds himself quietly waiting for the other to respond to his presence. His evening meditation wasn’t due for a few more hours, but for a human, 4:40 in the morning was pushing the limits of their body.

He’d heard the stories of Hana Song, a dedicated and decorated war hero with a gaming reputation and a super star to boot. No one on base hadn’t heard of her. ( Genji was actually a big fan of hers. ) Zenyatta watches as the other continues to tinker with her mecha, buried deep within the guts of machinery. She had a small clutter of food and soda cans at her station, and if her messy bun was anything to go by, the young woman had been here for quite some time. Had he a mouth, it would be pressed thin.

* SHE’S never been entirely comfortable with the new faces that appeared amongst familiar ones once winston had sent out his recall. they were all there for the same reason she was, to save lives, to better the world, but she couldn’t help but feel some alienation from them all. so many of them didn’t understand how much they’d lost before they got to this point. they weren’t there when it all went wrong.

she didn’t want to feel like this, but when so many faces were so new, and not the faces she’d hoped to be seeing, she couldn’t help but feel the loss, the disappointment of it all. she’d moved on, but sometimes she couldn’t help but get caught up in the emotion of it all.

* HER finger hovers over the end call button, the blonde exhaling deeply before she complies with the korean woman’s request, raking her free hand through her hair as she declines back into her chair. she’s unsure why she even called her in the first place, or why she accepted the call, it’s’ not like the pair weren’t very close.

“Lucky for me we aren’t friends.” Billy’s notorious for lying-- hates when other people lie to him but he himself speaks often in half truths and lies through his teeth to get what he wants out of people. It’s fair too common, even the flirting is such manipulation tactic with him.

“Yeah, no I wasn’t planning on it.” In all fairness to the other he’s been rarely known to take advise. Smoke curls off his lip before he crushes out the cigarette and drops it to the ground. “No offense but it’s shit advise.”

“Jesus, it’s not even that bad.” Bruised knuckles from hitting someone, the other person looks worse he would argue. “There’s nothing to fucking clean, go fuck off somewhere.”

The meka looms behind Hana, one leg twisted at a jaunty angle and leaning precariously as a result. They press a palm against the arm turret, single optic studying the decals contrasting against pink; its design feeling like a brighter, cheerier offset to Moze and her Iron Bear. 

“Yes.” Their faceplate tilts to look at her. “I suspect we have the tools to help mend your battle companion. Your manner of combat is not dissimilar from one of our own.”
