so i've been writing this little fic for some ocs whose canon project died. and i've been writing this since june.

someone tell me why i'm almost done with chapter 7 and it's 200-ish words away from overtaking the draft of one of my books which i've been "writing" since 2022/2023.

okay this is pretty out of the blue but a planned scene for the nerre fic i've been mentioning lately:

they're both pilots so they get their own spacecraft. neph already has hers and has named it Ner, which means "cloud" in their language.

perre, when he gets his ship, ends up naming it Isel, which means "lover".

cue neph being miffed by the, in her opinion, stupid name. but also secretly jealous and she doesn't understand why yet :)

and an exchange along these lines:

"I named mine Cloud, what the hell are you doing?"

"But Cloud is such a boring name."

"Take that back."
