They and the people from their world don't actually don't celebrate Christmas like we do, they in fact have a different tradition altogether called 'Frostcoming'! It's better explained over on my RP blog with them, but it's essentially like Christmas and Hanukkah rolled into one.
This is very last-minute stuff as you can tell, but I'm just glad I got it out.
