Just wanted to say hello today. I told myself I would introduce myself in a meaningful way at least once a month in 2017 and... January doesn't count, right? Totally. 💁🏻 I'm sy and I'm "umma" (or mom) to 2 kiddos with curly hair who are the center of gravity for me at this stage in my life (you'll find snippets of our #nestingfamily life in our IG stories). I started @kokosnest while living in New York. When I was pregnant with my first baby, I wanted to be intentional with my choices as a new parent, but I couldn't find a baby blanket that worked for our family and our modern life (i.e. powder pink/blue simply wasn't my jam). Eventually, I took a big leap and started this crazy business-as-life-as-business venture. I am a [recovering] attorney and I'm married to a [thoughtful, successful, good-hearted, practicing] attorney. We moved down to the DC area last year for my husband's job and we've been enjoying the slower pace, warmer temps, and amazing museums. Some random bits: i don't make my bed... it feels to conclusive. I want to leave an open an invitation for spontaneous snuggles in the middle of the day. I love DIY but I often abandon projects at step 9 of 10. I like to wear the same thing everyday 'cause... life. I grew up in Vancouver, BC and I still have two pairs of @lululemon pants circa 2001 in excellent condition to prove it. I love singing to my kids (again,🎶 IG stories). I have big dreams and I'm learning everyday how to breathe life into them. And lastly, I'm way too self-conscious to take selfies in public, hence this super serious #changingroomselfie . Baby steps, right? I'd love to hear if you have any questions! I'm allllll about pushing my boundaries this year.
