Netflix’s Supernatural Music Inconsistencies??
I’m sick as a dog today, so I decided to curl up on the couch and tune into TNT’s supernatural block. I turned it on in time to catch the first scene of Skin (1.06,) and “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” by Iron Butterfly starts to play. Now, I didn’t remember that song being in this episode (it’s a very memorable song, and not to mention I am a HUGE Iron Butterfly fan.) So of course I’m like, “man, how’d I miss that one?” But, I only got more confused when the next scene starts with the guitar riff from “Poison Whiskey” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Another song that’s hard to miss, but I had apparently missed. So, of course I’m thinking I’ve gone crazy --- how’d I not notice all these great songs?
Queue me switching over to Netflix to confirm my craziness when I realized I wasn’t crazy at all. The first scene of Skin on netflix is accompanied by “Good Deal” by Mommy and Daddy (had to shazam that one) and the second scene starting with a generic, definitely-not-Lynyrd-Skynyrd guitar riff.
Has anyone noticed this elsewhere? Because my access to seasons 1-8 has all been through Nefflix, and now I’m thinking Netflix might’ve cut out and replaced most of the original score and I missed out on a lot of good music. Has it to do with music rights or something? Or is it only in a few cases? God now I have the urge to rewatch the whole show on TNT just for the musical score.
