Here’s everything Apple just announced at its Apple Event
New iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watches were all introduced at Apple's recent major fall iPhone event. This is what it said:
- iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
- iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
- Satellite emergency service for iPhones
Apple did not raise the price of the new iPhones, contrary to what some analysts had predicted, and they will be available for purchase on Friday. The new AirPods Pro go on sale on September 23, and the new Apple Watches go on sale on Wednesday.
The high-end model for this year, the iPhone 14 Pro, was just unveiled by Apple CEO Tim Cook.
The smaller model with a 6.1-inch screen is dubbed the iPhone 14 Pro. The larger version will be referred to as the iPhone 14 Max.
The smaller model of the iPhone 14 Pro will cost $999, while the larger one will cost $1099. The cost is the same as for models from the previous year On Friday, they go up for preorder; they will ship the following week.
These devices have a new front design that reduces the size of the cutout for the front-facing camera, thereby increasing the screen size. The cutout, which Apple refers to as a "dynamic island," may simply show notifications or other system data, like baseball scores.
During its event on Wednesday, Apple revealed a long-rumored feature to allow its iPhone 14 series to connect to satellites for emergency services. This capability was made possible through a partnership with GlobalStar.
The function enables sending messages in places without cell towers by directly coupling an iPhone 14's antennas to a satellite.
Ashley Williams, Apple's manager of satellite modeling and simulation, said that a phone algorithm reduces the size of text messages to the point where they can be transmitted to satellites in "less than 15 seconds," before being relayed to a ground station and then an emergency service provider.
The emergency satellite service debuts in November and comes with an iPhone 14 for free for two years.
The iPhone 14 has the following features:
- OLED display with true tones
- Including a brand-new light blue, five hues
- screens made of more durable ceramic
- better front-facing camera performance in low light
- Action mode for video stabilization
- Emergency SOS via Satellite is a safety service that allows users to connect to emergency services even when they are outside the range of cellular or wi-fi networks. In the United States and Canada, it is free, and it debuts in Canada.
