In the hype...
As of now, I've got nothing else to do in this office (for this day at least), and I've got to write down my latest hype.
Just a few minutes ago, my boss called me and another colleague for a meeting. We were told that we are the two chosen by our Indian colleagues to be sent there for induction to the projects. We'd be sent to Bangalore, how long, and when, we still don't know. But the nere thought that we would be sent somewhere else, for free, oh my... I really had mixed reactions to it.
At first I got sooo happy, (but of course, I remain composed so as not to show my much excitement about it. pokerface kuno. :P). It would be my first out of the country flight, and I'll be going to a very culturally rich place. Though there are a lot of things other people say about that place, I don't know, I'm so into the adventure and learning that await me.
Then came fear. Not of the people, but I'm afraid I might do or say something that could offend some people there. I must admit that I'm not well versed with other cultures, it's really gonna be a sensitive way to learn stuff from me.
Another fear came is when I realized, I'm not a quick absorber of data... I'm not a fast learner, but when I get it, I'm good at it. I'm afraid the company might realize that it's a waste sending me somewhere well in fact I have not absorbed a lot. I hope that the subject to where we would be deployed would not be talking about rocket science stuff, but more on things that I can really understand - like the Information Coordinator stuff I'm encountering right now, I'm enjoying it, because it's something I have already done before. But with the reards to the new stuff, I don't fear learning new things, I like it, I just don't like the pressure that comes along with the condition of being sent somewhere over some people, the pressure of the trip having to be really fruitful. Oh well.
I hope details would become clearer as the talk between my boss and India goes by. I am really looking forward to go to that beautiful and culturally rich country. ^_^
