This is a standard double in Melvin Hall (room 237). Fair warning that I think this is the biggest standard double on campus! We love the bay window and view of the Fenz. It’s further from the middle of campus than other freshman dorms, but it’s really cozy with old fireplaces in the hallways and single person bathrooms for the hall. We share a closet but there’s plenty of room for both of us. My roommate and I both got extra boxes for under out beds for storage. The beds are high, but otherwise the dressers wouldn’t be able to fit underneath. The floors are a little creaky and the walls are thin, but that’s true everywhere. I know there are other standard doubles on my floor that are much smaller with regular windows, and also doubles with raised beds (those might be economy). The singles in Melvin are pretty big, and I know the triples have raised beds but are big with a walk-in closet (yes, seriously). Laundry room and study rooms are in the basement, but we don’t have access to a kitchen. Melvin is super cozy and very homey!
