Cheers! Drink yourself healthy. Do what ya gotta do to kick sick. (Hopefully an acquired taste- I'm not there yet ;))
I had a rough night last night. Illness symptoms decided to party on until I broke down and took more meds so I could get some sleep. Which means I'm a proactive madwoman today doing my research while I wait for next Doctor appointment. I found this article on functional medicine and thought was very helpful (link above). Maybe a new path towards a diagnosis and treatment plan. Boxing gloves are on- damn it- we're gonna knock this out. #sang #mamasaidknockuout
Today’s mantra and fave new tee. FOCUS on your health and kicking sick! One delish (but oh so scary looking) shake at a time. ;) And one doctor at a time until you find the right team to figure it out. I’m also looking into a functional medicine doc to add to my dream team- maybe a good fit for you too? Keep fighting friends! xo
Must watch for those having a difficult time getting a diagnosis or misdiagnosed. Keep fighting loves!
Words I'll hold close during tomorrow's test with neurologist. My dad kicks ass. Let's hope I do the same and kick sick for good. I'll pass on whatever I learn that I think can help with your own autoimmune struggle. Scary going down another rabbit hole and told first diagnosis might be wrong but you have to keep going until you get it figured out. You and your life are worth it. Keep fighting friends. xo

How to Take Back Your Life When You’re Broken
Swoon. I’m digging Psychologist Ralph White’s Infinite Waters. #adorbs Can I get a helloooo there?
I thought this episode on “How To take Back Your Life When You’re Broken” was relatable in fighting illness. “Hard times may mean we’re not in alignment with our true life’s purpose.” After struggling for over a year and having a recent grand dame of setbacks I finally decided to quit my job. During my health struggles the CEO, my supervisors, and colleagues couldn’t have been more supportive. I was given a VIP parking spot right next to our building. There was never a complaint when I had a setback and needed a day off work to recuperate. Colleagues jumped in voluntarily to pick up my roles and keep us on track. When I was out for extended periods my team sent flowers and cards. My boss stopped by my house in person to give world-class pep talks. And it was that same direct supervisor who connected me with an excellent local neurologist. These weren’t just colleagues, they’re friends.
I miss them and the work terribly but I’m learning that although life closes doors, it opens others. I’m looking at this “opportunity” as a chance to write that book I’ve been dreaming about and take those photography classes. Being creative has always made me tick- set me on fire- and although I’ve had to say goodbye to one love, its allowed me to be open to another.
“Allow yourself the permission to let go of whatever is no longer serving you- people, places, or things.” This couldn’t be truer with your support system during illness- your squad is your lifeline. I’d rather focus on what’s for keeps because most of us already know the hard changes ahead we need to make. My besties are strong women I admire and love like sisters. There’s nothing like a little pain and suffering to rip down walls and leave you exposed, open, and vulnerable, forging the best of friendships. And family- your kids, partner, sibling, parents- become guardian angels.
As the man with the world’s best smile said “Rewrite your story. Chapter 1 not going so well- don’t worry about it. Rewrite it. Chapter 2 is coming.” What he said. We’re not broken. This is our time to redefine ourselves. And our next chapter is already writing itself. Can I get a helloooo there? (Still swooning.) xoxo
