I've had this idea for a while: search for weird helmet designs from history and try to fit them in dragons. Idk I just like any garment that covers the face and looks queer.
I worked on these from top to bottom so the first one is kinda ass but I liked how the chainmal ended up, it was based on whatever this shit was supposed to be.
Now the second one is my favorite from all of these, the Mirmillo helm. I kinda just tried copying what I saw from a couple of images and this is how it turned out. I imagine it would be made and used by the skywings for the arena combats, and since most of these helmets would be made thinking about straight or upward facing horns, a round goat horn like the one from this mudwing wouldn't really fit, buuuuut since he is a prisioner and probably going to die anyways, why not take the quick route...
And lastly, the third dragon was based on two things, this helmet with point teeth because I think it's funky and on the mask from Labirinto (translates to Labyrinth), a character from the third spin-off of Ordem Paranormal (Paranormal Order for my gringos out there). They are mostly a normal guy, kinda weird cuz he like carries an antenna as a weapon and has a realy big labyrinth tatoed on his body but the trully weird part is their signature mask he wears when needed: a giant orb-like thing with no features but a big smilling mouth, after wich he gets like strong but lowk crazy n shit, all his friends die btw it is great go watch it. But anyways I wanted to have just some normal dragon with a uncanny helmet but it ended up looking like troll face so :D
Big part of the design's functionality (belts, chain-mail, plate locations) was inspired by everestblue's designs so if you like the idea of armor's for dragons definitly go check her blog out.
