updates on college/the future
so i’ve actually decided to be an art history major and i’m also in a good position right now to finish the major units required to transfer as a double major/minor in ethnic and/or women & gender studies. i talked to some people in the art community in LA and i just totally loved it and i felt so at home bussing around in LA honestly!! i am also so in love with all my art history courses right now. i joined this group for LA artists on facebook and they post job opportunities and places to submit to galleries and all that and i am just so !!! i’ve finally decided that i actually do really want to transfer to UCLA because of its close proximity to a whole bunch of art museums in LA county. also, UCLA has a certification program for teaching english as a foreign/second language and i’d really like to get that certification to eventually teach english abroad or at least be able to help teach ESL here especially because my parents know a lot of people that need help with english and my parents themselves (my mom especially) needs help learning english still. it’s only 4 courses to get certified and it seems very useful! i’m really hoping to get my license soon to be able to apply for a volunteer position at LACMA but it involves a year long training course so if i get my license i’m going to try and commit to that because it’s something i’d really like to do. The Getty has a paid internship program where they give internships to minorities that are underrepresented in the arts so that you can work in The Getty but i’d need to be either an LA county resident or attend a college in the LA county area which is why UCLA would be a pretty solid fit. since i finally decided on a college i really want to transfer to and have a pretty clear idea of what i’d like to pursue in the future, i’ve decided to make an appointment with an honors counselor at my school to try and get into the honors program and figure out how to plan my courses for the rest of the two years so that i can complete the honors credits required because UCLA has an agreement with my community college’s honors program for admission. idk i just feel so passionate and driven again and i’ve been in a rut for the past two months or so because i’ve felt kind of directionless for where i was headed but now i am like !!
My cat is capable of opening the window to our second story room to let herself in but always falls off the bed trying to cuddle

omg bookstores idk i love used bookstores if they count also i don’t actually shop in them but antique shops are also my favorite!!! same with thrift stores because i like finding cool things. and music stores!!!
