The 27th September Competition September 5 - November 22, 2014 (Alexandria, LA) Alexandria Museum of Art The 27th September Competition presented by the Alexandria Museum of Art is an annual, juried exhibition selected from national and international submissions highlighting contemporary art practices in all media. The juror this year was New Orleans-based artist James Michalopoulos. We're honored that our Medusa, In Her Sunday Best was one of only 50 works selected from the entries. POP Femme Sugar Coated Strange 2014 October 3 - 31, 2014 (Santa Fe, NM) POP Gallery POP Femme features the Women of New Brow Contemporary Art creating works beyond mere whimsy, often dark and mysterious and taking cues from old masters and religious icons while referencing the ancient myths of feminine power. Internationally acclaimed artists include Carrie Ann Baade, Tammy Otis, Zoe Williams, Phresha LeVandale, Stefanie Vega, Marie Sena, Kristen Margiotta, Julie Zarate, and Lea Barozzi among others. Anne Rice Tribute Auction October 3 - 31, 2014 (Santa Fe, NM) POP Gallery Running simultaneously to the POP Femme Sugar Coated Strange exhibit, this tribute show of small art works inspired by Pulitizer Prize winning Author, Anne Rice, will be an auction with 100% of the proceeds going to Southwest C.A.R.E. Center, which was established in 1996 and has been a model of excellence in the treatment of care for people living with HIV. Visit Pop Gallery's Website to learn more. 26th Art in Gadsden October 24 - December 23, 2014 (Quincy, FL) Gadsden Arts Center MANDEM won Second Place at this exhibit! The Gadsden Arts Center's juried signature exhibition of fine art, this year representing 87 regional artists working in a wide range of media. The juror for the 26th Art in Gadsden is artist Ljiljana Obradovic-Edmiston. The opening reception was on Friday, October 24. Learn more at the Gadsden Arts Center's Website. _Feminist Iconography_ November 11-15, 2014 (Pensacola, FL) TAG (The Art Gallery) The Women's Studies Collective of UWF is partnering with TAG (The Art Gallery) to present this exhibit, the theme of which is feminist iconography throughout history.
