So you want to quit smoking and get into vaping. That’s certainly a great idea. Today vaping has become highly popular in the UK with several reputed vape shops across London.
When you start out with vaping, it is obvious for you to be a bit confused regarding what to do and what to buy to enjoy vaping to the fullest. Here, you will get to know about the tips and tricks to follow for taking pleasure in vaping.
Fuck yeah vapes
Fuck cigarettes, vape life. Here's my vape guide.
So here's a basic buy list for a sick vape setup similar to what I've got. I've also got some general explanations of commonly used terms. It's kind of a lot of information to take in, but I think I explain it pretty good.
Mod: SmokTech Magneto - $22.92
http://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10005590/1521202
This is the same one I have. I think the one on FastTech is a clone, but there's not much to the tech and the Chinese clones are just fine (they're also about $30 cheaper than the one I got and the black is way sicker looking.
The "Mod" or "mechanical mod" type means that it's modifiable. You can take the bits apart, replace them, etc. A lot of entry level vapes have the battery built in to the body, which I don't like. They use proprietary chargers (like any EGO type, a very common starter vape), you can't replace a burnt out battery without replacing the whole unit, and you can't use different battery types. The Magneto is great because it can accept the 18650 battery (large, lasts about 3-5 days of constant vaping and lots of power) and the 18350 (much smaller, more discrete, lasts about 1.5 days of constant use). It's a threaded telescoping type setup, so you can just unscrew it to make it take a bigger battery. It's got the obvious bonus of looking like a lightsaber too, which I think is rad.
If you don't dig the look of the Magneto (or just don't wanna copycat me), there's a ton of other rad mods at FT. I like them for mods because shipping is free and they're CHEEP. I've seen some mods going for over $300, and while they are pretty, JESUS that is a lot of money.

Cartomizer: Aspire BDC Vivi Nova - $10 + Aspire Atomizer 5-pack - $13.00
http://shop.nhaler.com/Aspire-Vivi-Nova-BDC-Tank-1010.htm
http://shop.nhaler.com/Aspire-BDC-Cartomizer-Tank-Coil-Heads-5-Pack-1012.htm
Again, this is the cartomizer (cartridge + atomizer) that I have. I've tried a bunch of different types and this is my current favorite. Its atomizers are dual-coil so they put out tons of vapor and the flavor on this guy is second to none (okay, maybe a RBA but that's fancy town and I'll get to that). You'll definitely wanna pick up a 5-pack of atomizers to go with it. Atomizers usually last about a week or so before they burn out and having replacements around is a good idea.
Drip Tip: Renegade Smith McDivven - $20
http://localvape.com/collections/drip-tips/products/renegade-smith-mcdivven
This is the nipple tip thing that goes on the end of the cartomizer. I replaced mine because I think the one that comes with the Aspire is kinda crappy. The OG tip doesn't fit super snug into the port and it's kinda like a hookah tip, which isn't really my thing.
So, this part is on LocalVape, and they have a bunch of other sick tips: http://localvape.com/collections/drip-tips HOWEVER, they're kinda pricy. It's more of an aesthetics type thing, although it does kinda change the feel of the hit. This isn't a required thing, but if you like to pimp your shit out, pick one up. It's like car speakers: sure the stock ones sound okay, but if you wanna feel that bass, you upgrade.
Batteries: IMR 18350 - $13.29 OR Tangsfire 18650 - $10.90 + Nitecore charger - $16.65
http://www.amazon.com/IMR-18350-3-7v-Rechargeable-Battery/dp/B00D0OHDTO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1384977594&sr=8-3&keywords=18350+battery
http://www.amazon.com/TangsFire%C2%AE18650-3600mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-battery/dp/B00A4DD3DO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1384977881&sr=8-2&keywords=18650+battery+tangsfire
http://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-IntelliCharger-i4-Battery-Charger/dp/B005UAI372/ref=pd_sim_e_2
I like the 18350 batteries because they let the mod have a lower profile. They're lighter, your mod is the size of a roll of quarters instead of the size of a carrot, and they charge up pretty quick. They don't last quite as long (about a day of solid vaping), but if you get two you can just swap em out every day. If you choose to go with the larger 18650 batteries, they will still work with the Nitecore charger. It's universal. I have both sets of batteries and have no complaints about either.
Juice:
So, I don't have a lot of specific juice recommendations, just some suggestions. Juice is pretty taste specific. There are some that I like that you might not like, and vice versa. So, that said, here are some of my favorite flavors.
The Standard Vape - Dead Man's Party - $22
http://localvape.com/collections/the-standard/products/dead-mans-party
The page says blueberry lemonade, but I don't really taste the lemonade. It's blueberrylicious though. A+ on the blueberry flavor. It's got kind of a butteriness to it kinda like a blueberry pancake.
The Vapor Chef - Frosty Strawberry - from $3.99
http://thevaporchef.com/products/frosty-strawberry
It's strawberry with a hint of mint. Fresh and cool, kinda like a strawberry mojito without the rum. This is a nice one.
The Vapor Chef - Slartibartfast - from $3.99
http://thevaporchef.com/collections/frontpage/products/slartibartfast
Stupid name (it's from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), tasty vape. It's kind of like a cherry pipe tobacco flavor. It's smooth but there's a lot of body to it too.
http://www.velvetcloudvapor.com/
There are a lot of juice vendors that are good, a lot of it depends on preference. I included velvet cloud in the list and I find their flavors to be far too sweet. That said, I'm not a man with a sweet tooth and I know a number of people who enjoy their flavors. It's a personal taste thing.
I'd like to recommend Local Standard's flavors and The Vapor Chef's flavors for beginners. I think they have tasty accurate flavors that I wouldn't feel weird about recommending.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
It's here! Now what?
So after hours of research and dreaded postie stalking, your Genuine JoyeTech Starter Kit has arrived.
I thought I would write a brief run-down on what to do, and how to do it.
This tutorial will mainly focus on either the Genuine JoyeTech eGo-T or Genuine JoyeTech 510-T Starter Kits, however will have relevance to the new JoyeTech eGo-C Starter Kits as well.
________________________________
When you purchase a Starter Kit from Vapebar, you will also receive a Vapebar Bonus DIY Starter Kit which is a complimentary addition and our way of saying thanks.
Here are the steps as I see them...
You get 2 x batteries with your kits and both have some charge. Charge one now by either plugging the cable in to a USB port (PC/Laptop) or into a 240v AC-USB Adapter which will plug in to the wall.
The eGo-T Batteries provided by Vapebar, all have the JoyeTech 5 Click Protection on the battery as standard. We test every battery prior to shipping and we ship them in the OFF position. To turn the battery ON or OFF, press the button 5 times in quick succession (we have a lot of "these batteries are not working" queries and for every one of those, this has been the answer).
Put a battery on charge. Depending on the kit you have received, you will have a charge cable packed in the base of your kit box.
________________________________
1000mAh eGo-T Kits will have a Passthrough cable for charging from the bottom of the 1000mAh Passthrough Batteries packaged with that kit.
________________________________
650mAh eGo-T and 510-T Kits will have a dedicated charge cable that screws on to the battery via the threaded end.
________________________________
Your Starter Kit will contain, 2 x Tank atomisers. The 510-T and eGo-T systems work off the same basic theory. There is a "thread end" and a "mouth end". Inside the mouth end you will see a spike and inside this spike there is a wick.
The tank system works by spiking a "tank"
Which then feeds the wick
Which in turn feeds the coil (hidden underneath the spike plate).
The battery activates the coil
Which atomises the eJuice
Which you inhale as vapour.
The atomisers in your kit are packed in a "primer fluid". This is to keep the atomisers in good condition prior to their arrival to you. The primer fluid has a really nasty taste, so you need to get this out of the atomiser.
To get the primer fluid out of the atomiser, place a tissue or napkin at the thread end of the atomiser and place your mouth on the mouth end. Blow gently (not hard), as you do this the primer fluid will start to come out through the threads on the atomiser. You will hear some gurgles and slurps, this means it is working. Once you have blown gently through the atomiser for 30 seconds, take the tissue and wipe around the inside of the thread end of the atomiser to remove and remaining visible condensation or primer fluid.
Packaged with your Starter Kit will have been 5 x Empty Tanks. They will all be wrapped individually in clear plastic wrapping.
Once you unwrap your empty tank, you will see that there is an obvious, mouthpiece end and the end that inserts into the tank atomiser. Remove the base plate (not the mouth end) and top that up with some eJuice.
eJuice is a whole other Vape-Blog entry...if you have purchased eJuice Doubler and Mixed it, then that is what you put in your tank. If you have purchased some "Ready to Vape" JoyeTech eJuice, then you can put that straight in here.
Once you have filled your "empty tank" then you can snap the lid back on firmly.
Now you have an empty tank that has been filled, an atomiser clear of primer fluid, the last remaining step is to insert the tank into the atomiser.
If you have a look in from the mouth end, you will see the spike plate has 2 x rounded edges and 2 x flattish sort of edges. The shape of this plate inside the atomiser roughly matches the edging on the tank.
You need to line a flat edge with a flat edge and press the tank into the atomiser until if clicks. It is very important that you DO NOT TWIST the tank. Just line them up and push them together.
When you do this for the first time, it can be a hard task that can be easier if you use the palms of your hands to push together.
Once the tank clicks into the atomiser you have pierced the tank onto the spike.
Now sit the atomiser (with tank attached) upright on the table and give it 5 minutes or so for the wick to soak up the eJuice from the tank.
________________________________
Also included in your kit, you will find what I call "eGo Condoms" (pictured on the centre). These slip over the mouthpiece of your tank and give a smooth feel on your lips. A lot of people swear by them, a lot don't worry about it. They are not necessary just a nice extra.
Another added bonus when buying an eGo-T Starter Kit from Vapebar is our addition of Silicon Overflow Prevention Caps (OPC).
Some people have claimed that their eGo-T atomiser leaks, I have seen this happen and I have narrowed down the cause to be an incorrect seating or alignment of the tank when inserting into the atomiser. If you think about it this way, the tanks are supplied with a hard plastic cap, if you twist the tank you are making the hole (the one made by the spike) larger than what it needs to be causing air to enter the tank and pushing out the eJuice. With a Silicon OPC, any effect of twisting the tank is neutralised by having the silicon conform to the atomiser spike. We do this because we know these things happen, spares are available on the Vapebar website should you wish to get more of these with your next order.
Now that your atomiser has had a few minutes to effectively wick, it is time to screw it on to your battery.
It is important to remember....
Vaping is different to smoking. Instead of taking a short hard draw/toke/pull on your eCigarette, you need to give the atomiser the opportunity to complete its designated task of atomising the eJuice as well as being conscious of the wicks job of getting the eJuice to the coil.
When you vape, ideally you should be pressing the button and taking a longer, slower pull/drag/draw/toke into your mouth and then into your lungs (if you wish to).
By drawing or collecting vapor into your mouth first you will get better results that directly inhaling into your lungs.
If you do "suck" too hard on your eCig, you can sometimes get eJuice in your mouth and this is not a nice taste.
Give it a go for yourself....you might cough first time (if you don't then you are doing something wrong ;) )
I hope this post has been helpful for you as a new Vaper.
