I was sad a few months ago so I said fuck it and went on PC parts picker and started building a new computer....I found the case of my dreams and had to order it right then and there cause I had the money.. so of course that meant I had to follow through and buy the parts to build the actual computer.
I slowly started ordering the parts as I was getting paid from work, and then I had only three parts left.. the most important stuff, GPU, motherboard and processor. I was saving for my GPU when I got my tax return which allowed me to buy all I needed left.
I ended up ordering a motherboard that was too big for the case so I had to order another one, it came literallly a day later, but before I could drop it off, I got a call for transplant to drive seven hours out of town the next day so I had to put the computer on hold... I told my partner to bring the part in when he returned home and he said he would, however, the transplant didn't end up happening(second time this has happened) because one of the organs wasn't viable... so we returned home on Wednesday and my boyfriend drove the part over.
I called the tech today and he's going to have it done by later tonight or by tomorrow so I'll be have it this weekend and I couldn't be more excited.
I'm about to put all my Sims 2 stuff on a usb so I can port everything over to my new one when it comes in. It's not a linux build so I'm not sure how well sims2 will work out on it, but I'm more than willing to give it a shot.I do plan on putting my old gaming rig in my livingroom to hook up to my TV so that my boyfriend can play games on it since our PS4 is super old and I really want to play some games with him.. I plan on keeping linux on the one harddrive though so I can easily hop on sims 2 if worse comes to worse on my new gaming rig. I hope i'll be able to get it up and running but my hopes aren't super high. I built this PC cause Its been like 10yrs since I've gotten a new desktop and I've seen how much it struggles when I've tried to edit videos and such.
It's a bewautiful build and I can't wait to play around on it!
Pic is of the case everything is going into!
