"But what I cannot overlook is the personal disrespect man to man."
Cameron had been quiet through all of Raymond's undressing of him up to this point, but in audible confusion he had to say, "Huh?"
"Cameron, you never asked me for my daughter's hand in marriage."
"I can't overlook the fact that my little girl left my home single and unwedded and returned married, with child, to a man who didn't even have the decency to come to me and ask for my blessing to have my daughter."
The archaicness of the grievance gave Cam serious pause.
On the plus side, Cam had earned Raymond's respect, blessing, and he was calling him "son" now.
On the downside, he literally killed himself in bar tips to afford their first wedding. How was he meant to afford another? Cam inwardly groaned. How was he gonna break this to Dre?
"Well, hello to you, too, Heath," Melody said dryly. "It's nice to see you've taken that old saying it's 5 o'clock somewhere very literally. I didn't lose a bet, just figured it's time for a new look.
"Oh?" Heath said with a raised eyebrow. "Well, not gonna lie, it's kinda hot."
"Ya know, I don't usually go for baldheaded chicks and all, but I dunno, you're making me wanna try it out."
"Trust me, that was never the goal." Mel let out a sigh, "Is Leon home? I need to talk to him."
Rishella was relaxed—well almost. The fact that her daughter had yet to show up was starting to annoy her.
"Just where is that girl?" She thought exasperatedly as the soaks penetrated her skin. Andrea would certainly have to apologize profusely for this!
Despite the fact that she had just made amends with her mother, Andrea did not want her parents to know she was in labor. They'd insist on going with them to the hospital, and she was just not ready for them to be that involved again yet. She'd come up with some excuse to leave.
That excuse unfortunately came in the form of a hasty text message typed out to her mother just before she headed out the door with Cam!
Unfortunately, her mother wouldn't get it for at least an hour as she partook in her exfoliating mud bath.
Just then, Cameron got a text alert from Andrea.
"I can't wait to tell her about the celebrity I ran into," He thought as he checked his text. But when he read out what it said, his expression immediately changed.
At first, Cam thought he might have interpreted the message wrong, but those hopes were dashed almost immediately. Baby Cordelia was arriving a week ahead of schedule!
Over on the gym half of the building, Raymond had stepped out to use the facilities, which was fine by Cameron because he needed to be distracted by the fact that he'd have to come up with so many simoleons for a whole new wedding.
"No way, you're THEE Ariana Grande?!"
"That's what my birth certificate says," the girl replied with a giggle.
"That's a big deal, right? I know I've heard somewhere you're a famous singer. My wife is going to flip when I tell her!"
The girl nodded with a blank stare. She was an Ariana Grande, just not THEE Ariana Grande!
