If there's one person that changes Avery the most, it would be David. He was only only the height of her, but the downfall as well~
Avery met David back on the Island. There, he was a simple, disgusting human, but Avery for some reason treated him just plainly. She simply requested the door to be shut from the cold. Those days, things were simpler.
David and Aver began to grow closer, sharing stories about their lives. Well, more so David, Avery was very secluded at that time. Though once Avery let herself kiss him, things went downhill from there.
Avery was never the same.
Avery tried to stop him, she tried to convince him. That must be the one thing that haunts her the most. Letting David turn into a mutant. She helped him. It was what he wanted. He wanted to become this... thing, just like her. She warned him, but he went through with it, and it created someone who had destroyed her life.
They planned to escape together. They both wanted out, and they were convinced they were gonna do it. They did, but not without Avery to be scared. Seven was rude, hurt her. He hurt her and called her out on her previous job. And her rape. It hurt her. That's when the cracking began.
Avery was losing herself.
David and Avery were drifting. He didn't hold her like he used to, he didn't speak to her like he did before. Their relationship was like they were strangers once again. Avery had built up that wall between them David managed to break down.
He asked her what was wrong when they were approaching the rest of the world, and Avery thought it was having to have to live in a world she didn't think she belonged in, but the blankness, and depression, was all because of him.
She fell in love and she didn't even know it.
It only got worse when on land. She wouldn't eat, she wouldn't drink, she wouldn't speak. The world did not want her, and maybe David was worried, but all the man said was 'come to bed'. And she did.
Seven came out that night, and wanted something out of her. He knew his way with words, and even though Avery didn't care for him, he told her something she would never forget.
It’s not your place to just lie on your back and take it anymore, Avery. If it’s not what you want, then you have to fight. So come on! Let’s see what kind of vigor you have tucked away inside
It made her snap. A switch in Avery's mind flipped. Seven probably couldn't tell, but he was rubbing off on her. The words would never leave her mind, and she didn't think the same again. He wanted to break her, and that's what he got. Maybe not in the way he wanted.
Now, she stands up for herself, she wont take being forced into this and that. She has indulged her insanity, and welcomes it. She can't deal with David anymore, knowing he ruined her, and Seven.. Well he's an asshole who used her for sex. But hey, he showed her not to give a fuck, so there's something.
She doesn't want her heart tossed around anymore. So she's taken hers out. She wont deal with the pain.
David's love broke her, Seven's insanity fixed her, but into something completely different. Something the old Avery would have never wanted.
But it's too late for her. She's long gone.
