HUNDRED DEAD, €1.1 BILLION IN DAMAGES

PARIS, France (AP): We are only now getting in spotty reports from central Paris. 

 It appears that a battle that began a month ago with several showy figures fighting atop the Eiffel Tower has been raging ever since.  The original figures - one of them wearing ram's horns and another wearing some sort of glider shaped like wings - have not been seen in weeks, but the fighting continues to rage. The property damage runs over a billion Euro, and at current count, it seems that well over a thousand Parisians and tourists have died as collateral damage.

GREEN BAY DESTROYED

10/6/11

GREEN BAY, WI(AP): Nothing remains of this town, nor of several other towns along the coast of Lake Michigan.  The flood waters have finally receded enough to send in rescue crews, but they have found only one family, who stayed alive by fishing off the roof of the tallest building in Green Bay.  The family of five does not wish to speak about their experiences, and the media is respecting their wishes.

Recovery teams are beginning to move in to the less-flooded areas, but it seems very unlikely that anyone else will be found.

GREEN BAY, WISC., ILL., Michigan FLOOD

GREEN BAY, WI(AP): The waters of Lake Michigan continue to rise. Since the flooding began on the tenth, the water has risen a total of three and a half feet - a record high, and one none of the cities on the lake are prepared to deal with.

Evacuations are being slowed - in part because the area to evacuate is so large, and in part because the National Guard has its hands full all over the country.

MORE PEOPLE GO MISSING IN YELLOWSTONE

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Montana(AP): An additional twenty people - five of them park rangers - have gone missing within the park.  Four human corpses have been found near the edges of the park, hung in trees; two wolf-like corpses have been found as well, although surviving park rangers say the creatures are far too large to be wolves.

HECKLA'S PORTAL SHOWS SOME ACTION

July 25, 2011

HECKLA, Iceland: almost two months ago, a portal opened on the mountain of Heckla, a volcano in the south of Iceland.

Unlike near many of the other portals, no strange activity has been seen anywhere in the vicinity since.

However, in the last week, people in nearby towns have reported a series of strange events - flickering lights, abrupt changes in temperature, rain in small, targeted locations.

And yesterday, three figures - presumably men - were seen to walk through the portal. They have been seen walking towards nearby Hvolsvöllur at a leisurely pace, accompanied by three large tiger-like beasts, nearly as tall at the shoulder as the men.

Local legends say nothing of any creature like this.

MAN CARVES GIANT STAR INTO PUBLIC LAND

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (AP): A local man has caught the attention of his neighbors - and the internet - by digging a thousand-foot "devil's trap" on fallow land owned by the county.

The twenty-acre lot behind Glen          Carlson's property was once owned by the Carlson family, before being seized for tax evasion in the seventies.  Neighbors say that the Carlsons never stopped using the property - but that until now, their use has been secretive and quiet.

Now, with the carving of a thousand-foot heptagram (seven-sided star) into the sod, Glen Carlson has announced his trespass; in addition to the physical evidence, he has admitted on camera that he created the giant shape "to trap the demons that are coming."

The Carlson family and the town of Fort Valley remain silent on the subject.
