For the WIP Meme: Collar
Afterwards: Nathen groped the collar around his neck, only to find that there were shackles around his wrists as well. Pretty shackles, that jangled a little when he moved, but nonetheless shackled. The hell? he subvocalized. Again in Afterwards: “I should have done something sooner. But Eriko - we thought everything was fine until all of a sudden it wasn’t. And I - I have no excuse. I had my year under the collar. I had - I had my kids.” Purchase Negotiation: "I know you wear this." She ran her finger around the outside of the collar. Leander stayed frozen. He couldn't come up with another option. He wasn't sure if he had thought of something else, he'd have been able to do it. "I know why. I know you've been wearing someone's collar for a long time." Her hand settled on his shoulder. Leander thought about breathing again. "But - but that's not you, and you are not a dog." Muzzled: “Here." He threw a rough bag over Toph's head. "This will cover his face while you get him home." He grabbed the back of Toph's collar and unlocked the muzzle. "I suggest you buy a gag for him quickly, and possibly some shackles. May you and he have joy of each other."

Things a Tree Knows
The character(s) in this story are the grandsprouts of Curry, from Addergoole Year 9, especially this chapter and this outtake and this hiatus fic.

There were things Quercus knew that didn't really matter. Their siblings were not quite clones, but everyone thought they were; they weren't quite clones of their parent, but everyone thought they were.
(They knew something that did matter, which was that their family line's exact method of reproduction continued to confuse both botanists and fae geneticists, but it still seemed to work, although Quercus hadn't been interested in trying themselves yet.)

Funerary Rites 31: Orders
Funerary Rites 31: Orders “Are you an idiot?” Erramun tilted his head as if asking in genuine academic curiosity

“I’m just saying, she knows more than she’s saying.”
Ezer was following Senga and Erramun around the house.
This might have been adorable in a normal case, but since Senga was trying to get a moment or seven alone with Erramun, it was growing a little frustrating.
“And I’m saying, of course she does.” Senga checked the back door to the garden – the one in the Sturdy – and found it, too,…

Taller Fences
👻
The current family had been living in the house for about ten years when everything went weird.
The house liked them. They were tidy but not neat freaks; the kept the house pretty but didn’t change the paint color every other day; they had company over but didn’t spend all their time entertaining. All in all, they made a very nice set of companions, although they didn’t quite know that the house knew they were there, and they didn’t quite talk to the house.

Senga showed Ezer the back staircase for his side of the rooms, made certain Allayne was doing something reasonable and not fighting with anyone, and then, after a couple deep breaths, headed back to what had been her grandmother’s suite with Erramun.
After a brief reconnaissance, Senga opened up the room next to her newly-redecorated bedroom. “It’s not the biggest room, but I think it will…

She and the house were taking – one-sided but it was still something of a conversation – up in Mélanie’s bedroom when she realized that the sun was starting to set. I’ll be back by dark with all luck, Jasper had told her. She looked out the (now very clean) window and wondered how long it would be until…
