Gio here! SO! The new manga borrows heavily from the visuals in the series, with a few things also drawn from the movie. There’s some of Saito’s original aesthetic as well, but the overall feel is very much that it’s a *series* setting. Akio is even given white hair and looks far more like series Akio, though I think there may be a story ‘reason’ for the hair changing color. .
