On Wednesday 1/6/21 the big news at our construction site was that the concrete was poured! We visited on Friday and got to see both new foundations of our additions.
Here’s the front - Bedroom and Bathroom Addition:
Brett’s strolling through our new bathroom above! That wide pipe sticking out of the slab is where our new toilet will be in it’s own small room (Brett’s real new office ;). That large hole below right in front of our new front door is where our main sewer line connects from our bathroom on the right to the kitchen and second bathroom on the left, to a main line that shots straight out to the street under our driveway.
Here’s that same hole for the sewer line below and the side of the new Strongwall footing.
Here’s the back addition below:
There’s a curb around it so the framing of the new walls can be a little higher off the ground and protect from water seeping into the wood.
All those rods sticking up through the curb are the anchor bolts that hold the house to the foundation during an earthquake.
Above you can see the curb ends just around the corner, that’s because the rest of the face will be a large 8′x8′ sliding glass door out to our new covered patio.
Above you can see where they filled in the opening for the new footing at the west side of the new ridge beam that will be added.
All the plumbing trenches have been filled in too! Above you can see where our new island is going to go. The 2 walls on either side are just temporary supports. Once they get that new ridge beam in there the whole area will be wide open!
More plumbing trenches filled in above!
Lumber is getting dropped off next week and then the real fun begins!! Framing!!
I can’t wait to see the new framing and spaces form up!
