The Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) Thursday said the N1 trillion recovered by various government agencies was all used to finance the 2017 and 2018 national budgets. 2. Former President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, met behind closed doors with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Jonathan, who arrived at the forecourt of the Villa at 2:58 p.m., headed straight into the President’s office for the meeting, which agenda was not officially disclosed as he refused to speak with newsmen. 3. President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he had given instructions that all forfeited assets be sold to the Federal Government be sold and the money put in the Treasury Single Account. 4. A former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has asked a Plateau State High Court to dismiss a fresh application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission seeking to amend an earlier 13 counts it preferred against in a N6.3bn fraud trial. 5. Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola has told the House of Representatives Committee on Works that the N157 billion allocated to his ministry in the 2020 budget cannot offset outstanding debts. The minister said the amount of unpaid certificates for completed road projects was N306 billion, while N2.93 billion was pending in unpaid certificates under the multilateral-funded projects. 6. Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed worry over the arrest of yet another scammer linked with the Buhari Presidency, alleging that the latest development has confirmed that the Presidency under President Muhammadu Buhari has become a haven for dubious characters. 7. The Federal Government has approved recommendations to review the National Broadcasting Code and extant broadcasting laws. The laws would now reflect the review of fines to be paid by erring broadcasting stations from N500,000 to N5 million for breaches relating to hate speeches, inciting comments and indecency. 8. The Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) has called on organised labour to shelve the proposed October 16 national strike over the consequential adjustment of the National Minimum Wage and exhaust all mechanisms of social dialogue. 9. Nigeria and the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited has signed a $3.9bn contract for the construction of a new Abuja-Baru-Itakpe-Lokoja rail line project. 10. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued regulatory guidelines for the operation of Indirect Participants in the Payments System, with effect from Nov. 11.
