What's your favorite subject to write about? It could be a trope or a whole genre if you prefer.
Thank you for the question! I think I’ve kind of obviously got a bit of a soft spot for writing characters that don’t think they’re worthy of love and affection being told “tough shit, bitch, you are worthy and it’s HAPPENING” (see: Cullen, Harvey, and eventually Frankie 👀). And evidently as expressed with Hotel Hobbies and even a bit in Case History I’m very into characters trying to fuck without feelings and catching feelings anyway. AKA: sometimes using sex as a surrogate for intimacy backfires and leads to actual intimacy anyway you dumbasses.
Apart from that I’m really really fond of writing horror, and it’s something I have done precious little of for a very very long time. I wish I could pole vault directly to the mine chapter of Case History because I am dying to get into that.
What’s one thing you learned from another writer that you consider indispensable in your own writing?
So I’m probably embarrassing myself admitting this but fuck it: I read a lot of Nora Roberts when I was younger. Like, a LOT. She was my go-to writer for a long time. And she’s aged poorly for me in hindsight, but I always remember how her style of describing scenes, and emotions, only took a few words. It was always something I liked and when I started writing I modeled a lot of my initial wording off of her.
@newtoadprince replied to your post: an absolute must episode for the new amazon...
I find it hard to believe amazon will give the new Leverage any teeth.
kay, enjoy your killjoy pessimism. i'm gonna continue being excited and hope we get some john oliver-level "fuck you, business daddy" pointed plots over here. and it's john rogers, so i'm not pissing into the wind on nothing.
newtoadprince replied to your post “every so often i get into the brainspace where im not Sad but like im...”
I know this is supposed to be sad but all I can think of is like, an AU where Eodwulf is having this reaction and Astrid being all “why wait” and just yoinking Caleb’s magically addled ass all the way to the menagerie coast or some shit.
I See You and I’m getting like HARD flashbacks to a fic someone wrote that was part of a Caleb Whump Spam and it was,,,, very cute??
ie Nott and Caleb end up running to the coast after Caleb becomes too disabled to adventure due to a severe head injury and they end up living with Marion and Jester and like - first of all? - very good fic
second of all, now im picturing A&E struggling trying to find a consistant place to stay in Nicodranas where they can find jobs. They pick up temp work here and there, and cushion that with money they make stealing from folks on the street - all in shifts to ensure that someone is staying with Bren at all times, just to make sure that he isn’t alone, even if he doesn’t do much of anything.
At some point, one of them drifts over to the Lavish Chateau, and asks for temp work there. Either of them can work as hosts or wait-staff. They both have skills learned that could make them useful for more intimate tasks as well, and neither of them are opposed to the idea so long as they get paid for it. Miriam is,,,, concerned? Because they may be adults but they’re young still and something is very very off about them, but she allows it. And for a short time she has one of them working in the bar, talking to customers, generally being a very nice companion for her patrons to talk to through the nights. She tries to dot on them here and there, but they duck and swerve past every question or concern she shows, and that’s almost more concerning for some reason.
Mmmmmmmmmm I forgot where I was going with this? I want them to end up living at the Chateau at some point. Maybe they get kicked out of their current place and can’t find a new place to stay at. Maybe one of them gets into Trouble and the other panics and has to bring Bren to the Chateau to stay for a bit while they figure out what they need to do to help the other. Maybe Marion just straight up offers to house them in the building.
Who tf knows, I got super ahead of myself and don’t have an ending other than ‘Marion has Big Maternal Energy and Jester grows up with three very skittish very magic friends’

My immediate thought was “what if there were a 21 year old coke to go with it” and tbh the thought is cursed.
I’m fucking dying never has a response to one of my posts been this perfect

OP can also cut a plastic bottle and attach it to the front of the filter to slow the water flow. That’s what I usually do, and in addition to the extra plants it’ll really make a difference.
^ I’ve never personally used this method, but it’s helped a lot of people, so this is an option, too!
