She motioned for him to sit and she crossed her arms over her chest. “We can’t have this tension going on throughout us now. We aren’t going to win. And yes, I’m still peeved about everything that happened, but I’m willing to shove it under the metaphorical rug we’ll be covering the burial of our rival show choirs.”

I think Barry is afraid of losing, specifically his loved ones. He doesn’t want to lose his friends -- not after everything they’ve been through, he doesn’t want them to get hurt because of his decisions. He knows that he’s done a lot to mess that up and he’s always trying to make things better. Barry doesn’t like the idea of losing to any of the bad guys again.

He’s also definitely afraid to trust new people that come into his life, because ( nearly ) every time that he’s done that -- it always up blowing up in his face and it’s always used against him. Yeah. That’s his two biggest fears, I think.

[ sms: johnston. ] even if we were what you would call friends, you can’t POSSIBLY think the friendship would resume after you blew up my car. that crown vic has been my dream car ever since i was a child.  [ sms: johnston. ] and don’t say the general will pay for a new one, because i don’t care. that was my car.
