personality ; though she’d extroverted around friends and family she’s somewhat introverted with people she doesn’t really know. she can come across as abrasive and rude, that’s not always her intention. she tends to assume the worst in people and it’s made her a bit cynical. she’s extremely protective over those she cares about, she’s a risk taker, adventurous, and prides herself on being very independent. she’s extremely hard to get to know.
she grew up the youngest of 4 siblings and the only girl. she was babied constantly, always trying to keep up with her older brothers. prove she was just as fast, just as strong and that she could do anything they could do, even if it wasn’t always the case. she kept to herself during school, having very few friends and not socializing all that much. she had always been rather book smart and ended up going to college for a political science degree.
around age 20 she found herself dating a guy a few years older than her. she’d dated occasionally in high school but this was her first real boyfriend and she was head over heels. she wasn’t aware at first - but he was addicted to a number of different drugs and drank more than he could handle. after about eight months of dating they began fighting a lot, and not long after that he became occasionally verbally abusive as well as physically abusive. she never thought of herself as the type of girl to put up with that sort of thing, but for some reason she did. to this day it’s an embarrassing topic for her - she doesn’t like admitting that she wasn’t strong enough to get herself out of the situation on her own. she stayed with him for nearly a year after the abuse began because it was so rare, keeping it from her friends and family. though when things escalated she became worse at hiding it and her best friend found out. by having someone else shine a light on the situation - nora finally admitted to herself just how bad it was and just how much she needed to get out of the situation. she left her boyfriend and cut all ties with him. she didn’t want to press charges legally because she didn’t want anyone else around her knowing about it.
after college she debated attending law school but it was too expensive. nora had always been rather good at observing people, staying out of the spotlight and reading people’s true intentions. her uncle had been a private investigator for years before he passed away, and this is where she got the inspiration to become one for herself, receiving her license and building up easy clientele. manhattan was full of women that wanted to know where their husbands went when they were alone.
nora makes a steady income secretly recording the lives of people in exchange for money. in fact she loves it. she finds herself getting in trouble occasionally with the police, especially when it comes to trespassing - though luckily her closest friend, alex, is a police officer and constantly bails her out of trouble.
to this day she keeps tabs on her ex boyfriend, not because of any deep rooted feelings - she just wants to make sure he doesn’t do what he did to her to anyone else.

His parents were Hollywood A-listers, not only his parents but also uncles, aunts so on and so on. They were a family of actors even from his grandparent's parents were in the show business, etc.
The media’s attention was always on him when he was young especially now that he’s one of those sought-after bachelors.
He was pretty much spoiled when he was growing up, his parents would give him whatever he wants since he was an only child, and they waited for like 10 years until his mom got pregnant with him.
He was very big on family, he has a big family and would have this usual Sunday family lunch together when he was still living in California.
Four years ago, he moved from California to New York to get out of his parents' shadow. But that was not the main reason; he left because he had a drunk one night stand with someone in New York like 10 years ago and he got the girl pregnant??

Charlie looks up to her mother who singlehandedly balanced being a successful doctor and a single mom to her and her older brother.
Her mother urged her to be a doctor which she complied even if back then she was not so sure about it until she experienced what it’s like to be appreciated by those you help out.
She lived in Florida all her life before her mom decided that they should go back to New York (where her mom grew up) six years ago to live in her grandparent’s estate.
Growing up, she was never close to her mom’s parents because they had disowned her mom for getting pregnant with Charlie’s dad who was not that rich??
Her father left them when she was just two years old so she never really got to know him or even remember him, but she has that father figure with her older brother though who is very protective of her.
Personality-wise, Charlie is very passionate to be a doctor? Because she likes to help out the best way she can. And she just wants to be just like her mother and proved her grandparents that even if she had an asshole as a dad, doesn’t mean “the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree”.
She is small but would insist that she can take care of herself even if she was in trouble.
She hasn’t decided yet on what to specialize in, she is currently working as a post-graduate intern in the hospital.
If you've watched House MD, Charlie is like Chase in a way, she is smart and really good at what she is doing but people would doubt that she is where she is because of her mother.

You know those hippy type families that has kids and names them after the rock bands they just can’t seem to let go of? Well, welcome to Bowie Joel’s life. Her parents couldn’t even be normal and pick just one musician. Her last name had to be Joel, and they had to pick Bowie. Who the hell picks two last names for their kid? She never lived down the torture. Kids in her small town never seemed to give her a break and constantly teased her about her name, but she vowed that she wouldn’t let it bring her down. Someday, she vowed, she would make it big, and everyone in that tiny town could eat shit.
She got out of the small town and moved to New York for college. Her goal was Julliard, but pfft, she didn’t have the grades for that. Let’s be real here, Bo. Your sparkly shiny attention span kept you out of the running for a prestige spot there. But it’s all good, she was accepted into the City College of New York where she studied Music Theory. Of course, she was just one of many with a piece of paper saying she was qualified to get a job doing what she loved in a city full of millions.
...getting a job with her degree isn’t exactly the easiest of things.
Maybe she wants to teach kids not to give up on their dreams and live big, reach for the stars? Maybe she wants to compose a musical for Broadway? Maybe she wants to become a Broadway performer herself?
...lets be real, she really just wants to sit on her ass and eat twinkies all day, but who doesn’t?
She makes enough to cover her rent in her dingy apartment by performing gigs every now and then at bars and as a street performer, but she honestly has no idea where she’s going in life.
Bowie tries to keep her chin up, but the voices of kids from back home get to her once in a while and she get be a bit pessimistic. But when you catch her on a good day, she’s pretty kick-ass.

born in dublin, ireland to a working class family; his dad was a plumber, and his mum worked as a hairdresser. he also has an older sister.
his older sister was basically his lifeline; she practically raised him because their parents were always working ( but nevertheless very loving & cherished the time they had with their children ) but especially so during school. skinny, unbelievably quiet and with a huge mop of hair, danny was the perfect target for school bullies, and would usually go straight to his room at the end of the day, resurface for a meal and then disappear again until the next morning.
it was during these years that it first became clear to him, and his family that he was depressed, though nothing was ever done about it -- particularly because mentioning such a thing would mean being blanked by dan for at least two days. so, he found his own methods of dealing with it, namely repressing his feelings entirely, putting on a brave face and drinking excessively.
he left school at 15 and received surprisingly good ( everyone was expecting worse given how poor his attendance was ) grades in mostly higher level subjects, excelling particularly in maths & applied sciences. from there, he joined an apprenticeship program as an electrician, simultaneously unofficially learning his father’s trade at the same time.
at seventeen he left home, finished his apprenticeship and started working for a small local company just outside of dublin. he bounced from job to job and place to pace within and outside of the city for several years, often being fired for unprofessionalism -- turning up to clients’ homes drunk, or not turning up at all.
finally, he quit and bought a small flat not far from his home despite having avoided all contact with his family for the past twelve or so years. this was another time where what daniel would probably describe as a ‘dip’ in his mental health occurred, and he only left the house to pick up a box of cereal, some fast food or more booze.
at thirty-one he finally visited his parents and sister, just to tell them goodbye and that he was leaving for new york. they asked why, and he couldn’t give them an answer -- primarily because even to this day he’s not entirely sure why he thought it was a good idea. but danny’s been living in the bronx for three years now, and two years ago set up his own electrical company with him as employee and employer; he’s available for hire as an electrician, but his store also doubles up as a repair centre amongst other things because he’s handyman af.
personality wise... he comes across as very much a grumpy, bitter person but he really is a marshmallow underneath several layers of blatant self-hatred and copious amounts of alcohol. stubborn as a mule, it’s a genuine problem but if he puts his mind to it easily one of the best friends you can ever have. danny likes to say that he can make even the worst person look as good as jesus, just by walking into a room.
still disappears at random for days at a time and then reappears like it's nbd. wicked sense of humour, dry and quick-witted like nothing else.

hello guys!! i’m anya and i haven’t been part of a group rp in a while even though they are my favs. i’ve been eyeing this roleplay for a while now because i adooreee older fcs and characters so y’all won me over with “25+ only characters” honestly my heart started singing. anyway, i play @gavinirwin & @kitseystrauss. i can be a lil awkward, please forgive me, but i promise i’m super excited about plotting kitsey & gavin with all over you!!! Fair warning: I ramble a lot. ✨
★ — ( charlie hunnam ) have you seen gavin irwin in the big apple? i think they're thirty-four years old and live over in brooklyn. they’ve been living in new york for thirteen years and word is they work as a cook. he is known as the phoenix .
LONG STORY SHORT: Gavin had a rough childhood, and was definitely not someone your parents would want you to hang out with when he was younger. He had a massive attitude problem and serious unresolved issues, but once he was determined to get over them he never looked back and he’s a pretty chill dude these days.
He has two siblings, an older brother who died when he was around 17, and a half-sister who is roughly 8 years his junior (his half-sister is part of the reason why he has learnt that you can’t save everyone and go back to the same people over again and consistently make the same mistakes hoping for a different outcome).
Up until his early twenties he really was someone with a broad circle of acquaintances and a very small circle or friends all of which were people (himself included) that you’d want to street clear of. He was never a genuinely bad person, it’s just that the environment in which he was raised, especially in his teens, gave him a very wrong idea of how a person, especially a boy from his social class, should go about in the world and conditioned him to act in a certain way. Even if he did help around the house a lot (as did some of his other male friends because there’s no money for sitters or maids) he was raised (not by his family in particular but the community as a whole) with a very stereotypical notion of what boys are supposed to act like. I don’t think he ever thought too much of it, if it was right or wrong or just plain backyards thinking, it was just his reality.
He went through three decisive moments which essentially shaped his life. The first one was his mother’s death, he was around 8 and he processed it the way a young boy raised in the environment he was raised in would, plus he had a slightly older brother and it was easy to just follow his footsteps. Close as they were, their bonding was often over the wrong things or in the wrong way, and while they were already close as young children after their mother’s death they became even closer and that was also the time they started taking the art of being troublemakers to another level.
The second one was not going to college. He made it there, and on a scholarship (and he was a year younger than most of his peers and all because he got into high school a year earlier), but pretty much blew that and just walked away back home. It was an incredibly stupid thing for him to do and he did it for a variety of reasons the majority of which were excuses and/or based on inner fears (of inadequacy, not being able to fit in, etc etc). For a while, particularly while he was trying to get his shit together, this was a part of his past that deeply disturbed him and he beat himself up about it constantly but eventually he reached the conclusion that stupid as his actions were they got him where he is, so he sort of feels like it just had to happen.
The third one was his brother’s death. He died in a bar fight, or more accurately after it, and Gavin was there and he was involved. His brother’s passing really made him go off the deep end - extremely bad decisions were made during that time and a couple of those landed him in juvie. Even though that’s obviously not a good thing to have on your CV, or to just share with anyone let’s be honest, it truly the only time in his life where he seriously acted out, crashed, and then was able to evaluate himself, and angry as he was when he initially got there, being surrounded by people who had done worse things than him only made him realize that their situations and futures weren’t things he wanted for himself - they weren’t things he wanted to conform himself to. After a couple initial fights, he did really well while he was inside, and he was genuinely determined to nurture that new of way thinking he had discovered while he was doing his time.
Easier said (or thought) than done, however. He didn’t have any money of his own when he got out, nor did he have proper support, and on top of all of the things he had left on hold prior to going to juvie his half-sister also started getting herself into serious trouble. It’s not easy to get out of the place in which he was raised, either you’re lucky or risk it all or the circumstances just aren’t in your favor and no one is really rooting for you. He had some street debts to pay (both his and his brother’s), he had actual bills to help paying… it just wasn’t a good situation.
So he got a job and spent years just trying to do what he had to do to get people off his back (and it was around during this period that he started cooking at one of his jobs in a shitty joint). When he was 22 he nearly landed himself in jail because of his half-sister - at that point she was really young, she didn’t have a record and he didn’t want her to mess up her life so early on and potentially in such a permanent manner. Luckily he got away with community service (and his service included working with food). His half-sister apologized to him a lot, and she was thankful, but she didn’t really do anything to change her behavior. This whole affair was essentially his final drop; he was absolutely done with that whole environment and his situation, and he realised that he needed to go elsewhere, do or try something else, because if he stayed as much as he wanted to turn his life around it wasn’t going to happen.
The forth moment was moving his native Philadelphia to New York. He lives with a coworker now but at first he stayed with an old acquaintance who used to be extremely close to his brother (and by extremely close I mean, more than friends extremely close) and who was still up to his old tricks but he was very welcoming and didn’t bother Gavin in the least. Plus they had opposite schedules which Gavin found perfect because for most of the time he felt like the place was his alone (which was extremely important because it gave him time and space to develop and better himself as an individual).
He works at an okay restaurant as a cook - not famous in the least but pretty decent and has a lot of traffic.
Listen.......................... the world has kind of ended for Gavin many times and that’s part of the reason why he has such a lax “well, that’s life, roll with it” attitude. He’s just a guy living his life not thinking too much about things or worrying about the future.
PS: low-key really want a “we had a crappy blind date and ended up just having sex and it’s been about a month and i just got a text from u and wait what you’re pregnant??” plot for him
