Materials science turns magnetic material into doctors

Something called Magnetic Nanoporous Ceramic Material could be about to revolutionize diagnostic methodology for afflictions ranging from new influenza variants to mad cow disease.

The material, developed by the Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering and Technology (KICET), attaches a large array of biomarkers to magnetic materials to enable swift and accurate diagnosis.  

Another next generation material developed by KICET is a new photocatalyst, which unlike existing catalysts, functions in the visible light spectrum as well as under ultraviolet rays.
