And something must be in the air today because she’s taking it slow too, drawing it out. And she’s looking down at him, at his blown pupils, and his lips swollen from her bite, and she sees that something blissful again when the corners of his reddened lips pull into a soft smile while she moans as he moves inside her, as they both get closer to the edge.
The pull of his lips pulls on the dread coating her lungs until it’s in the back of her throat and she feels like she’s drowning. Because the ice is melting from their inferno and breaking off and crumbling around them and there’s a fracture right beneath them, but Rio doesn’t even know. He’s in a bliss built on lies.
She feels her eyes sting as if shards of the ice have ricocheted and hit them and her hands shake as she clutches onto him and buries her face in his neck as she lets out choked-off moans, on the precipice. And he meets her there. At the edge. In perfect harmony as they fall off together.
