I love no.6 so much for the fact that it shows that homophobia and gender roles are something we are taught not something we are born with. In this post-apocalyptic world these concepts are dead, they died with the people who created them. Not a single time did shion nor nezume ask about each other's sexuality and no one on the cast sees it as being gay instead as two people who love each other Also, the reason that nezume didn't want shion to come see him at the play is because the theatre is filled with monsters not because he was wearing traditionally feminine clothings (a dress) and playing a traditionally feminine role ( a princess), he wasn't ashamed of what he was wearing or acting tho it contrasted with his personality. Also when shion saw nezume like that he didn't laugh at him or was embarrassed instead his reaction to that was pure, he was impressed by nezume's acting and enjoyed it.
