You know what I want to know? What is our little space nerd's (niall) favorite planet is. Like, I feel like this is information that is really important to us that we don't have. Also, what is his favorite Jupiter moon. (I hope Sav sees this cause I tried to ask her but her ask box is like cut off for me? Idk. But I want to know your thoughts too though, my lovely little darling Arwa)

hi anon, i’ve had 15hrs to deliberate over this and honestly i’d like to give you the cheesiest answer so buckle up. (also, i took the liberty of asking @niallspringsteen and her exact words were ‘maybe mars cause it has a chance for life i don’t know much about planets’ so hope that helps?) BUT HERE’S MY ANSWER. 

to be completely honest, if we don’t look at any other planet in the solar system, i think his favorite would be earth. and yeah, that’s the boring cliche answer but it’s also essentially niall. from the scarce glimpses we get into his mind - through interviews, articles, journalists, on stage performances, friends - we can safely say he’s someone who loves human beings and that’s innate when it comes to him because he’s bound to spark a conversation, string along a crowd, and make friends. like the man literally went to the hospital and commandeered a little fleet of nurses and doctors at the expense of chinese food and a ukelele. an actual sunshine who revolves around life and life around him. 

i’ve been listening to the album Atlas: Year One and the song earth has this lyric which goes like this:

I dig 'til my shovel tells a secret,Swear to the earth that I will keep it

 and i don’t know why but that screams niall to me!!!! so what i’m basically trying to say here the long way round is that he’s attracted to life, and what better planet to fall in love than your own? 

HOWEVER, now to the NOT BORING CHOICE !!! as human beings i like to believe we’re inclined to fall in love with things that we fail to see in ourselves and sometimes others help us see it, yeah? sometimes someone comes along and dims our bright light - not to make us less of a person but instead making us softer and tangible. that’s why to me i think niall won’t pick mercury / venus / jupiter / saturn because they’re bright and known and these magnificent giants. it’s a fandom wide consensus that niall’s the happy one, the sunshine as many refer to him. like look at him.

like he’s so FREAKING PRECIOUS !! LOOK AT HOW HE SHINES !!!!

ANYWAY I DIGRESS !!! 

so since he is this bright enigma shining his light on everyone ever? i think his favorite planet would be Neptune. why? first off, the planet is STUNNING. like absolutely gorgeous. 

and like did you know that Neptune has rings? just as Saturn does? but you can barely see them because they’re clouded and since i’m impossible and love making things about ziall i shall make this too. remember that interview where niall told zayn to tell the interviewer what he told niall? it’s weird because whenever they give an interview and one of the boys’ is talking niall always listens so to me he sees beauty where many might not and just as so i’d like to believe he’d like to see how beautiful this icy monstrosity it. the soft counterpart to his very own shining disposition. 

NOW LETS TALK ABOUT JUPITER’S MOONS!!!! I LOVE SCIENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!

roughly i believe Jupiter has 50 moons with 17 provisional one’s. and to be honest they all sound breathtaking but just for cruelties sake i’ll pick one and that would be Europa. ironically, that makes me think of europe and europe equals ireland and ireland equals niall so truly i’m just going off of similarities my brain is whizzing. anyway, Europa is said to have potential to life seeing as it has a rocky seafloor in contact with a global ocean of water ! so how wicked would it be to call a moon the second earth !!! and i think that fact alone could pull niall to pick it as his fav. Otherwise, I’d go with Callisto because the story behind the name is beautiful and we all know our space nerd niall loves the stars so what better than knowing the mythical story about the reason why Ursa Major and Minor were made? 

and in the words of the song Saturn which was essentially written to describe niall tbh

My headcanons for Niall

1: Niall was raised by his mother. She kept his nature hidden from him, hoping to protect him from the Dark Court. When Irial and Gabriel came near their small town, she bolted because she feared for her life.

2: Niall loves art. He loves to draw and sketch. He loves to paint and sculpt. When he has the time to do any of these, he gets very calm and relaxed.

3: Niall has a bit of a BDSM fetish. However, he rarely trusts anyone to be dominant with him. The only person he's ever let do so is Irial.

4: despite how he acts or sleeps around, Niall is still deeply devoted to Irial. He hates their time apart and often drops into low points of depression.

5: Niall and Irial had a son named Kieran (an oc of mine). Kieran was killed by a group of solitary fey who wanted revenge against Niall and Irial.

6: Kieran was not born. He was created during a blood ceremony that Irial and Niall performed as a binding.

7: Niall has a weakness for wayward children, the ones that are slightly strange or confused about who they are. He relates to them greatly and feels the need to help them when he can.

8: Niall's power grows more the better fed he is. If he has Irial, he's nearly invincible because they're constantly touching and Irial is always feeding Niall his emotions. No one else has been able to keep Niall this strong before.

Hello! I'm new to the nail fandom - though I'm not sure how bc he's such an absolute delight. You've been posting a few things about his family (the divorce) and such. Another person on tumblr was also commenting on how there seems to be bad blood now between Niall and his brother & mother. I only ever hear Niall speak about his dad. Did something happen (besides the divorce) that caused such a divide between the family. Niall is such a sweet guy. I can't imagine him not getting along w/ his fam

#2 With the disclaimer that I know next to nothing about Niall beyond what he’s actually said, I’ve never gotten an inkling that there’s any bad blood between him and his mother? Maura seems lovely and he seems to have a lot of love for her. As for Greg...Greg mostly has a history of cryptic tweeting...stuff about fame changing Niall or him being ungrateful or things like that. Greg seems to have a lot of stuff going on and he’s had periods of being pretty openly resentful toward Niall? I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but as far as I can tell, Niall doesn’t engage with it, at least not in a forum that we’re privy to. If I put on my sibling-in-a-divorced-family projection hat, I would posit that Greg is frustrated by his brother’s success and that frustration is compounded by Niall’s tendency to stay chill and unbothered and not engage with Greg’s emotional outbursts? I don’t know. Their relationship seems ~*complicated*~

But YES. Niall is a sweet guy. He’s positive and happy and supportive and free-spirited and funny and good-natured and my favorite thing about Niall is that all that positivity and pleasantness is a deliberate choice. I feel like Niall is actually a very serious insightful incisive dude who really SEES people and thinks a lot. He has a broody worrisome side. The fact that he makes the choice to engage with the world in such a positive light hearted and open way is really fascinating to me and I appreciate it SO MUCH.
