we dont talk enough about the fact that buck and eddie’s birthdays are one day apart. i just knoooooow that it became tradition for them to celebrate it together bc baby chris found out about it and asked them to bc the idea of two cakes!!! was just soooooo exciting. and they keep on doing it now that chris is older and more teenage-y and less interested in those things bc… it became just… a buckandeddie thing yk?

the 118 definitely has thrown them a joint surprise party once or twice, too.

The fact that Eddie canonically gets mean when he's hungry makes the fact that Eddie is eating constantly so much better. I bet the 118 regularly has to make sure he's got a little snack. Buck organized a schedule so Eddie doesn't get suspicious about the same people people offering him a little treat. Dinner has gotten moved up on several occasions because Eddie was turning into a gloomy bitch and they all knew he just needed to eat.

i know my wee woo show is silly and not nuanced and there's so much room for improvement. but then it also does things like set up multiple instances, over several episodes and multiple seasons to show how buck likes to bake to process his thoughts and he is not very good at it yet. but eddie diaz has always been the number one fan of his baking. it has not happened even once that eddie and buck's baked goods have been in the same scene, and eddie was not shown enjoying those. he will stuff his mouth with those cookies, lick his fingers and let his man know that he did a good job. and then buck buckley will duck his head and blush. and make me want to scream into my pillow.

Because Buck didn’t push his way into Eddie’s life. He just fit into place. Ana needed more. She needed input and space made for her. Eddie doesn’t know how to adapt when it comes to women in his life.

But Buck didn’t require any changes.

The whole "I don't have to want to sleep with everyone I have feelings for" is a very good description of Buck's feelings for Eddie

He doesn't want to want Eddie, Eddie's "straight", Eddie is not an option. From Buck's point of view, being in love with Eddie, would be a betrayal of Eddie's friendship and puts him in the "Queer guy yearning for his straight best friend" position which he does not want to be.

So even if he has feelings for Eddie, he doesn't want him, he won't be caught pining for something he can't have. Wanting Eddie is simply not an option.

It’s really interesting tying this into who he talks about his feelings with Eddie with.

When Maddie asks about it, he’s pacing, fidgeting. His denial is the feelings themselves because Maddie would have called him out on what he told Tommy immediately.

When he tells Tommy though, his focus isn’t on lying and denying. He stands still, he makes eye contact. He’s not running from his feelings in that moment. He just won’t let anyone twist them into being something so casual as “just sex”.
