So, here we go. Usually, I do not talk about my faith, because it is something personal for each of us, but I liked these questions, so I thought I should make an exception. The qs are from here
1) How long have you been Orthodox?
I was born Orthodox. My grandparents and gran-grand-parents were Orthodox. So, I've been an Orthodox all my life.
2) What “kind” of Orthodox are you? (ex: Greek, Russian, Antiochian, etc)
3) What’s your favorite service?
The Resurrection Service.
4) What’s the hardest thing for you about being Orthodox?
Fasting, most definitely:)) That's why I don't really do it.
5) How big is your parish?
6) What’s your favorite lenten food?
7) Every been to church camp?
8) What in Orthodoxy makes you happiest?
I feel like Orthodoxy is a pretty free religion, so I think I love that. This means that I guess somehow it makes you feel free to choose, that's what I meant.
9) Describe the best retreat/church camp/conference you’ve been to
I've never been to something like that, but the Religion classes in school were quite good. Also, I love the monasteries in my coutnry which date from the Middle Ages, you can really feel that God is there.
10) If you’re not married, would you marry someone who’s not Orthodox? If you are married, is your spouse Orthodox?
I don't plan on getting married, but if I EVER think of that, his religion wouldn't matter to me. Orthodoxy started to accept the act of marrying people of different religions, but usually, it is asked of the woman to leave her religion for him. I would never do this either.
Saint George. My middle name is Georgeta, which I really hate, but anyway.
12) Are you a convert? If so, why did you decide to convert?
No, I am not. Nor do I plan to convert to any other religion. Orthodoxy is good enough for me.
13) Where you live, roughly how many people are Orthodox?
I live in Romania. Almost 80% of the people here declared themselves to be Orthodox, so 80% out of 20 million people, you do the math :))
14) Are you close to your godparents?
15) Favorite service in Holy Week?
I don't know the name in English, so I'm just going to explain it. The service where you have to go each day to the Church and on Friday, to pass under the Holy Air in the Church.
16) Favorite part of Pascha?
I will assume Pascha is Easter, not the tradition Easter dish. I like going to the Resurrection Service, then to the cemetery in order to put candles and also, to bring home the Holy Light.
Also, the food and the fact that it is Spring:)
I guess Easter would be:)
18) Best thing about Orthodoxy?
I was born with this religion, I was taught by my Grandmother how to pray and so on, so I guess it is the best religion for me.
All religions are great, in my opinion.
19) What’s a good story that has something to do with church?
Once, I went to confess myself and the priest asked me whether I "sinned" with boys or not and I said no, so he told me I should use protection if I ever do so. Which is, in my opinion, an awesome response. The Romanian Orthodox Church should come to terms with this kind of thing, so yeah, I think this is a good story about it.
