As per usual in this house, new Steve Lacy song means more TomMatt content, but with a catch: it’s with Tord! And my god this one is cool as hell.
Loving the sound on this one. I’m also REALLY vibing with that new aesthetic Steve’s going for with the new release.
The switch-up on 2:07? Majestic as fuck.
In terms of theme headcanons, you can really hear a hint of that Matt “flowy, dreamy guitar” sound, especially in that specific part.
That kinda “pound” in the drums, beat or rhythm whatever, and even the vocals and overall mood, reminds me of Tom. But funnily enough, I’m getting some hint of Tord in the rhythm, especially with the fast paced beats? Fuck yeah dude.
Lyrics wise? It gets me thinking how the poly started out at first. They all struggled at first, for sure.
Tom and Matt recovering from their breakup the year prior, and Tord joining in later when Tom, Matt, and Edd have already been a thing. They all got their fucked up issues in the beginning of it.
At first I was like, yeah, this feels more like a TomMatt breakup era song, but now with Tord in the frame, didn’t he also struggle to open up to loving the others? Especially Tom and Matt, since him and Edd were already so close?
