Niceart week 2016 Day 2 - Royal/FairyTale/Magic/Enchantment
NiceArt Swan Lake style!
I imagine that in this version of the tale Prince Nice isn’t fooled by the Black Swan (probably played by Moral...) impersonating Swan Prince Art at his Royal Ball... Cut to Swan!Art outside the window being eternally grateful that his boyfriend isn’t an idiot and didn’t swear a vow of eternal love to the wrong fucking Prince...
(don't worry, I'm only making it official, feel free to still post anything you couldn't!)
Thank you all for participating in Niceart week! We had some overwhelming numbers:
81 posts
25 participants
And all of that in just one week!! (*゚◯゚*)
And let's not forget every nice person that couldn't participate but showed their love by giving the posts so many notes!
Thank you, each and every one of you! I know the end of February isn't a holiday season for most people, yet you all still took your time to participate. No day was left without at least two posts. When I set this date, i didn't expect so many responses, you have no idea how thrilled I was.
I've been seeing people say it was disorganized, but as the person that has had to seek out and reblog all posts properly tagged, I can assure you all you guys were flawless, all were nicely tagging and mentioning what prompts your posts were for. If it looked disorganized, it was because there was so much posting peope were getting confused, lol.
In case anyone wants to check posts by day/prompt, I have a tag page specifically for the niceart week on this blog.
And if anyone wants to do another next year or even at the end of this year, please tell me and I'll see what i can do.
Niceart week was a huge success and it couldn't have happened without all you guys. Thank you and until next time!!
NiceArt Week | Day 07 - Feb 21 | Prompt: Canon | Word Count: 242
Summary: All that Nice wanted to do, was apologize.
It was a stupid fight. You were only trying to help, but you made matters worse without realizing it, and now he was made at you. You can’t remember a time where he was this angry, especially not at you. Your arms tightened around yourself as you rested your head atop the counter of the bar. He hated you. What were you going to do?
It took a case to help you slide things into perspective, to consider something you hadn't considered before. Sometimes you forgot not everyone saw things the way you did. It wasn't enough that you thought him important - you had to tell him too, because he always thought low of himself. But right now, there was only one thing you had to do. Your partner says what you've just realized and you run off, leaving the rest to him.
.
The other end of the phone is ringing and the sky is gray with rain even though the lights from the store windows brighten up the streets. It keeps on ringing, and you think, nervously, on the verge of being disheartened, that he won’t pick up. But even if he ignores you, you are resolved to keep trying until you can reach him.
Your call is on its last rings - you can almost hear voice mail begin to start up when the ringing stops, and you hear rain on the other side of the phone.
Summary: "Just like how much Art cares for Nice, Nice’s feelings towards Art [are] also very strong. However, Nice won't admit 'I like you’ in front of the person he dotes on, just like a child who cannot talk straight."

Notes: My submission for niceart week, day seven: Canon. A continuation of this fic, but can be read on its own.
Nice has to keep stuffing his mouth with sweets to keep himself from drooling at the sight in front of him.
He can't help noticing how attractive Art is looking that day, with the sun shining on his back and his eyes brighter than usual, leaning forward as he talks to him, his head resting on his hands, with his long, delicate fingers intertwined together–
Nice hastily grabs another cake and keeps talking around a mouthful.
He's surprised when Art abruptly stands up after a second of silence. He offers to pay the bill and gives him a gentle smile as he leaves, like he always does, but Nice wonder if perhaps it was his fault, that he made Art leave thinking he didn't want to talk to him at all.
If anything, there was something Nice thought would be a great time to bring up as they had lunch together.
But surely not. How could Nice possibly voice something like that out loud? Shouldn't it be obvious?
And besides, why would such a hard-working and responsible person like Art be interested in the first place?
When he leaves, Nice pretends he can't hear the voice inside his head that calls him a coward.
When Art loses himself in the darkness, Nice swears he won't run away anymore.
It takes a long time for Art to come back, for Art to forgive himself, for things to go back to normal.
When they finally meet at the cemetery, Nice cheerfully remarks that if Art dares to die again, Nice will be sure to kill him himself.
But even as they go back to Café Nowhere and are welcomed with open arms, even Nice can tell that's not enough. Certainly not for Art.
So after another long time has passed, and Art's hair is now reaching his shoulders, Nice decides that, in the end, it's better late than never.
"I love you, Art." Nice finally tells him as he stares directly into Art's eyes, and he doesn't miss the way his expression is completely overcome by surprise.
For a single, frightening second, Art fails to show any kind of response. But then his eyes mist over and his lips are quivering, and Nice can tell Art is doing everything in his power to not start crying.
When he finally composes himself, Art shows him the happiest and most beautiful smile Nice has ever seen from him, "I love you too, Nice."
The rest of that night is a blur. As they lay in bed together, remembering the touches and kisses they had shared not so long ago, Nice wonders if perhaps this was the right way, if things could've– should've gone better, if things were supposed to have taken this long to happen.
But as Art reaches up for a kiss to wish him good night, Nice decides that if they're together now, then everything else can't possibly matter.
"I love you, Art."
And Nice always makes sure to keep saying it over and over again.
Summery: Master asks Nice to bring Art something but of course when he meets him he doesn't tell him that fact
Note: Late niceart week submission ya know... the usual
Nice ran onto the train before the door closed. Having to use his minimum to even successfully get on it in time.
He was surprised to see there wasn't as many people on the train as he would have expected. Although there was still no spots to sit but there was at least an open standing spot in front of the person he was chasing after.
Nice walked over and grabbed onto a strap then looked down at the man. "Sup stranger." Nice said to the lilac haired man.
Art looked up surprised then smiled. "Nice... What are doing on a train?"
Nice briefly averted his gaze. "...I have my reasons." He said before looking back down at Art. He didn't want to immediately tell Art the reason he was on the train and decided to switch the subject from himself. "What about you?"
Art was briefly disappointed by Nice not telling him his reasons but shrugged it off. "I'm running an errand for Master." Art answered.
Nice hummed in response.
"Still I've never seen you on a train." Art said. Shifting the subject.
"Neither have I."
"I don't use the train very often."
Nice noticed the conversation dissipating and decided to ask Art one last question.
"So where are you headed?"
"So many questions but no answers... You are being very suspicious today Nice."
Nice laughed nervously. He hoped the train would move a little faster.
***
Eventually they made it to their stop and Art stood up.
"Well this is my stop." He said.
"It just so happens to be mine as well." Nice said.
Art raised an eyebrow. Nice was being absurdly suspicious at the moment, and he was getting very curious as to why Nice was on the same train as him and getting off at the same time.
"Oh?" Art narrowed his eyes at him. "Well if that's the case why don't we stay together." Art grabbed Nice's hand and pulled him out of the train.
"Uh don't you have somewhere to be?" Nice asked.
"No... Not for another four hours." Art answered then stopped and looked back at Nice. Keeping hold of his hand however. "What about you?"
"Not for a little while no."
Art smiled, and Nice found himself getting happier from the sight. He loved it when Art smiled genuinely. It was unfortunately rare but when it did happen Nice couldn't look away.
"Let's go on a date then!"
"A date?" Nice questioned. He didn't expect that offer.
"Well we both have business here that won't be resolved for sometime so - Unless you don't want to..." Art trailed off
Nice quickly spoke up. "No- I mean yes. Let's go."
***
As they walked around Akiba Nice started to wonder if Art actually knew where they were going or if they had gotten lost at some point and Art hadn't told him.
"Art do you know your way around Akiba?" Nice questioned.
"Mm I've been here a few times with Three."
"Eh?" Nice didn't know how to comment on that.
Art paused then looked back at Nice contemplatively.
"Hm... Want to go and grab a bite?" Art said.
Nice considered it. He knew that what Art was basically asking if he wanted to get some desert from the cafe beside them. The small twinkle in his eyes enough to tell Nice what he wanted.
"Sure." Nice said, and Art smiled and pulled him inside.
***
Nice watched Art eat. Wondering if he should tell him now or wait until last minute. Art paused however then looked up at Nice with narrowed eyes.
"I've waited long enough. Tell me why you are here?" Art asked again.
Nice sighed. Wasn't much point in keeping it from him in the first place, so he might as well fess up.
Nice pulled out an envelope and slid it across the table to Art.
"Master forgot to give you this and asked me bring it to you." Nice said.
Art looked down at the envelope on the table then back up at Nice and narrowed his eyes.
"That's what you were avoiding telling me?" Art said. Sounding a bit disappointed.
"Are you mad?"
Art leaned on the palm of his hand. "Disappointed more like."
"Disappointed?" Nice repeated. He didn't expect that kinda response. What was Art thinking he was keeping from him.
"Could've at least been something interesting." Art mumbled. Then his eyes wandered over to Nice's plate. "As punishment you have to feed me your cake!"
"Feed you!?"
"Yes."
"Right now?"
"Mmhm."
Nice blushed. Things were taking a surprisingly strange development, and Nice didn't know how to react, so he simply did as Art asked, and took a spoon full of cake and brought it to Art's lips.
Art ate the cake off the spoon, then after swallowing, his cheeks reddened. "On second thought lets not!" He said.
"Spoon feeding to much for you?"
Art averted his eyes. Nice's guess was right in a way. Art didn't feel he was particularly 'worth' such treatment although he had mostly stopped such thoughts after Nice kept getting mad at him for it, but part of it still lingered.
"I'm not wo- no it's uh... Embarrasing."
Nice caught on to what he stopped himself from saying but didn't comment on it and instead said. "You've never been spoiled have you?"
"Spoiled?" Art questioned.
Nice stood up then put some money on the table. "Come on. I'll treat you."
"Y-You're paying!?"
Nice narrowed his eyes at Art. "I'm not 'that' broke. besides I saved up." He said. Mumbling the last part quietly.
Art wanted to argue and pay himself but reluctantly decided against it. "Fine..."
They left the little cafe. Art following closely behind Nice until Nice eventually stopped in front of an accessory shop.
"You aren't going to-"
"Yeup." Nice interrupted.
"Nice! I don't need anything."
"But do you want anything."
Art glanced at some of the things lined up in the window on display. From beautiful accessories to colorful hair ribbons. He didn't have much interest in accessories but since Nice seemed to be set on buying him something that wasn't edible, he decided to humor him.
"I could I guess use a ribbon for my hair but..."
"Ribbon it is!" Nice said. Then started pulling him along into the shop.
"Nice no I." Art said trying to come up with something to stop him and was surprised when just that actually worked.
Nice stopped and let go of Art then looked back at him with an almost mischievous grin on his face.
"Okay then wait here." He said then walked inside.
Art stood outside and waited for Nice for about ten minutes before he finally came back.
"That took awhile." Art said.
"Sorry." Nice said then handed him a small rectangular box.
Art was about to try and open it but Nice put his hand over his and stopped him.
"You have stuff to do today. Wait until you get home."
"...I guess you have a point."
Nice smiled despite the fact that his wallet was crying. From the purchase. Of course he wasn't going to let Art know that though.
"So um how much time do we have left?" Nice asked.
Art looked down at his watch to see the time, and was truthfully a bit disappointed by how much time had passed. He was having a lot of fun and wanted to spend more time with Nice.
"About half an hour at most."
Nice clicked his tongue then sighed. "Well, have anything else you wanted to do?"
"Drop by the comic store and grab something Three asked me to pick up?"
"How many errands are you running today?"
"Not that many." Art answered. Then got closer to Nice and put his arm around Nice's. "Come on."
"Yes, yes."
***
They ended up briefly grabbing a few hamburgers after grabbing Three's comic. Which Art gave to Nice to deliver since he was going home as soon as they split up and Art would be running around town a little longer.
Once it was about time to part ways they started to say their goodbyes to each other.
"See you tomorrow then?"
"Yeah."
Art watched Nice walk away, but called out to him. "Love you."
Nice stopped then looked back and waved. "You too." He said.
Art pouted. Nice rarely ever said it back but he was fine with that.
Afterwards Art ran around doing the rest of his errands and finally once he had done everything and was able to go home Art took a bath.
He sunk deep into the bath then sighed. He felt a bit exhausted honestly.
After getting out of the bath and sitting on his bed. Art grabbed the rectangular box off of his dresser, now was as good a time to open it as any, so he opened it and saw what was inside was not what he expected.
He pulled out the silver pendant from inside the box and smiled fondly. He would have to thank Nice although he was partially mad at him for spending so much money.
