Empathetic toward women. Empathetic toward women who wear makeup. Who shave. Empathetic toward women who don’t feel like women because it’s fucking uncomfortable to exist as one. Empathetic toward women who have a lot of sex with men because they feel like they have to. Empathetic toward women who still don’t know how to connect with their anger. Empathetic toward women who have internalized misogyny. Empathetic toward women who conform. Empathetic toward straight women and bi women. Empathetic toward female influencers who harm girl’s body image because they hate their own bodies. Even more empathetic toward the girls harmed by them. Empathetic toward people pleasing women. Empathetic toward straight and bi women who want love from men but feel guilty because it’s not the “radfem” thing to do. Even when it if feels impossible, have empathy toward all of the women caught up in the patriarchy. Because all of us are.
Don’t get so concerned with the sanctity of a movement that you lose empathy for the people you’re trying to liberate.
