      in hindsight, letting his guard down around any of them, bokuto especially, was a terrible, terrible idea. 

       it was really a pity he’d realized this after sitting down against the gymnasium walls, entirely vulnerable, glasses slipping down the bridge of his nose.  all he’d wanted was just a moment of shut-eye, having spent all the night before intercepting spike after spike until he’d caved and wrapped his fingers, because if he took one more ball to them he was sure they’d snap. 

       but not having anything to do or anyone to keep him occupied while the others took their rests meant someone was meant to be restless, and who better a target than the drowsy middle blocker propped up on the wall, glasses free for the taking. as soon as he feels them come off the bridge of his nose, his hands come first to his face, then outwards, reaching for them and the culprit. 

      “give them back.”
