Fantastic mail call day! Finally got me the omnibus of the title that first got me into comics. The first issue I bought off a spinner rack with my own money was New Warriors #1. Thank you Fabian Nicieza and Mark Bagley for this beautiful life long addiction. #newwarriors #omnibus #comics #comicsaddict #fabiannicieza #nicieza #markbagley #bagley #mailcall #warriors #marvel #marvelzombie #makeminemarvel

Before this issue, I own issue 28 and after this, I own issue 77 – but there is very little continuity involved here besides who is alive and who is dead, to worry about.

90s X-Men. :) You said you were reading it, so what do you think of my childhood so far?
So far my impression of the Lobdell & Nicieza era is that there are some great stuff in the quieter moments, the ones that are about characters and interaction; but that the stuff that have plot/action tend to be… err, pretty random and crappy and badly plotted. I think there’s a tendency of having too many villains who are EVIL because they EVIL in a very cheesy and overbearing way with very little substance. Some of them are actually fun - I like Fitzroy for example - but most are utterly forgettable. (Shinobi Shaw seems to be cut slightly above this paygrade though).
And good villains are important to making good action plots.
. . . And that is their entire first date. If you ask me, the whole issue should have been devoted it, and it should have been a double-sized special. With gatefold, foil, holographic, scratch-and-sniff cover. It would have smelt of gumbo. :)
Issue: X-Men #24 (1994)

Gambit is such a dick here. I'm not sure why Xavier thinks that it is a good way to make a woman fall in love with you. It may explain all his relationships, though.
Issue: X-Men #17 (1991)
