this is largely subjective, but there are some aspects of how different actors portray lucifer on spn that can read as androgynous or feminine. to me, it stands out the most in jared’s depiction of lucifer, because it’s such a clear contrast to how he plays sam: sam!lucifer keeps his eyebrows raised, uses a softer/smoother vocal tone, and walks/stands differently (whether this last is just because of a difference in confidence standing up straight while moving slowly and kind of model-preening, or because it actually reads as more feminine, is kind of a toss up imo).

Okay, so late seasons Supernatural veered away from its gothic horror roots, right? Yeah. But then they threw in Nick's story arc through season 14 and, well, that is just a masterfully classic horror storyline. There's touches of noir to it, the way he investigates the murder of his wife and baby, meeting with the reporter in the cafe, for example. And religious horror in his attachment to and identifying with Lucifer, his longing to be possessed. And the slow unfolding of what happened. The way the scenes were blocked and lit, the whole thing...and the music! Ugh, the music! It's honestly so horrifying and I just love it.
