feeling in my soul that nick fallin is autistic, then seeing his hallucination flashbacks of his mother and realizing she definitely is ( this fandom is dead ) ( sos )
So… my parents are watching The Guardian. And it’s after they just finished the Mentalist. And I’m semi involved in it because it’s summer and I live at home, and I’m starting my teaching career. But I just looked through the Nick Fallin tags here on Tumblr and the Guardian hashtag (there’s really not a lot of posts about it.) and no one has brought up the fact that there’s a high probability that Nick is autistic? Like. That doesn’t compute for me. And I know the show came out in 2001 and lasted till 2004, but like I know fandom. And like someone should have noticed.
Lack of eye contact except when forced. Doesn’t really mask, and is bad with self regulation. I don’t know. Maybe I’m just projecting a bit. But I don’t think I am. Like a lot of undiagnosed neurodivergent people in general turn to drugs to help regulate their emotions and other things. And I have a lot on my mind right now with other stuff going on, but like someone tell me you’ve seen it and know what I’m talking about.
the picture of nick that burton keeps in his wallet… i can’t
Look at my lawyer dawg I'm going to jail
This is for me and the other 3 guardian fans out there ignore the wonky shading this was a practice
not nick fallin being told to be charming and then threatening a grown man
nick fallin is so repressed it's obscene. it's fascinating. i'm obsessed with the tragic delicateness of how he plays his character. every too-wide, wolfish smile and trembling, blank look. his reddened eyes. his awkward silences. the way he ducks his head and tries to make himself smaller every time someone yells at him. he is so palpably human. this show is so incredibly poignant. i'm in love with whoever wrote this character. he feels authentic in a way not many characters do anymore. yes, he's flawed, but it's because he's real.
