I am neutral on the Nick/Ali ship but I was thinking about something. It might have been mentioned before.
When Nick met 2025 (or whatever year it was) he didn't remember Alice. Not her name, her face, etc. She really upset her and Kat explained it was decades ago for him and it felt hinted towards it was just a summer fling for him. Unless I am remembering wrong...
Fast forward to when his dad comes to town and casually mentions Nick dated a girl named Alice years ago and was obsessed with her and was his long lost love.
The two are very different reactions. Could it be bad/lazy writing? Sure. Just seems weird and unbelievable she barely crossed his mind to the point he barely remembered her but at the same time his dad (who wasn't that active in his life) could immediately clock the name and Nick's connection to it.
I don't know if this made sense. I am tired LOL.
