can you write more for nick scratch ? Like some good old angst where one of them gets hurt thanks!
Coughing, Y/N tried to cover up the blood droplets covering her palm. The last thing she'd want is for Nick to notice her injuries are more than a scratch. She lied to him, something he hates most in the world, but this lie is for his own good.
She bites her tongue as she grips her hip wound to aid herself in walking. Nick glances over his shoulder to ensure she's following behind, but his eyes do not linger. He doesn't see the struggle every step causes nor the pain she grimaces for. Her back is drenched in blood, she can feel herself growing weaker.
"It's a little further", Nick tells her. He sounds just as breathless, but Y/N knows it's because they've been rushing to escape. Hell's descending upon them and for the first time in forever, she didn't pray to Satan to come and save her.
Stumbling, she falls to her knees. Hearing a thud, Nicholas turns with wide eyes. Returning for her, he grips her arms in order to help her up, but her legs fail her. Once again, she finds herself on the ground with a pained expression upon her face.
"What's wrong", Nick cups her cheeks. His eyes are searching hers for answers, but when she coughs, his eyes flicker to her lips.
"Nick", she breathes out as he shakes his head in fright.
"No, no, no", he repeats. Denial is easier than acceptance, but he mustn't waste time any longer. She's not long for this world, but he was always meant to do great things. Y/N can't allow him to perish along with her.
"Nick, please", she grips his leather jacket. "Let me go."
Lips quivering, he shakes his head as tears fill his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?"
She manages a smile, "Because you can't save me and I wanted a moment longer."
Furrowing his eyebrows, Nick wraps his arms around her. He pulls her up to her feet, using all his strength to keep her upright.
"You promised me a forever", he states gruffly. "I demand you keep that promise."
Breathing heavily, Y/N’s tears spill over. “If you do not leave now, you will die with me.”
“Then let me die!”
Swallowing thickly, Y/N’s grip on his grows.
“Nicholas”, she whispers. “Please.”
“It’s my choice to make”, he insists as he pulls his arm under her knees and lifts her up. “I’d rather die than live hundreds of years without you.”
Resting her head on his shoulder, Y/N felt herself drifting. Soon enough, her body will slump in his embrace and not long after that, Nick will find himself carrying her corpse. She knows it to be true, she can feel herself slipping away.
Her eyes flutter, trying to remember every line of his handsome, tear-stricken face. If this is the last memory she’ll ever have, she can’t complain. This beauty was meant to be appreciated, to be admired and loved deeply and she believes she had been successful.
In honor of all they shared, she wills herself to move her lips. She wills herself to say what’s been lingering at the tip of her tongue.
“Nick”, she smiles meekly as her vision blurs. His dark eyes find hers quickly, allowing her to say the words finally. “I love you.”
She doesn’t see him smile or hear him say it back as darkness consumes her. She can’t feel his hands around her, nor smell his cologne.
At least she told him, she thinks to herself. Her last words meant something.
Notes: This is based on a song that’s become popular very recently, so you could try to determine what it is as you read, if you want. I’ll link the song at the end in case you didn’t figure it out, or to listen to the song if you’ve never heard it. ☺
Being a hopeless romantic was practically a curse for a witch. Your kind wasn’t made for love. Lust, desire, sex – all of those things came easily for witches and warlocks. But love was a different matter entirely. You knew it was foolish to allow that particular emotion to creep into your heart, but all the mortal romance novels you’d read left you willing to be foolish.
A few months after engaging in a strictly sexual relationship with Nicholas Scratch, you confessed to him that you no longer wished to continue the affair unless he was willing to incorporate romance into the mix. He was hesitant at first, but didn’t want to lose the way your attention and affection made him feel important, valued, and cared for, so he complied. He took you on dates, bought you flowers every Tuesday, let you wear his jacket, cuddled together as you watched movies and read magical novels. He even wrote a poem for you, which he turned into a song with some assistance from the acoustic guitar he borrowed from the choir instructor. The dashing warlock swept you off your feet, and you had never been happier.
Then Sabrina Spellman came into the picture.
You truly had nothing against the plucky, young, promising witch. It was Nick who posed a problem. Ever since she arrived at the Academy, you felt him slipping away from you. He stopped buying you flowers. The dates became few and far between. He slowly took each of his jackets back. But all the while, he used that enthralling, silken voice of his to supply you with thinly-veiled lies of reassurance.
“There’s nothing between Sabrina and I, babe. And besides, she has a mortal boyfriend. Don’t worry your pretty little head about it, alright?”
It wasn’t long before his story changed.
“Being with you has been amazing, and you’ve opened my mind to the possibility of love for our kind. I love you so much, and I always will, but…. I won’t lie to you, there’s someone else. And I can’t, in good conscience, stay with you while having feelings for another person. That’s not fair to you. I’m sorry…. I’m so sorry.”
The contradiction of Nick’s lie of reassurance and his words as he crushed your heart never left your mind… nor did your love for him. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t shake how much your heart yearned for his touch, his kiss, his scent, his voice. It felt like a knife in the chest when you saw him and Sabrina together, shortly after the break up, and you weren’t the least bit surprised that she turned out to be the “someone else.” Nick constantly looked at her with more love and adoration than he’d ever shown you, and it never ceased to hurt.
Nevertheless, you did the only thing you could: you carried on. Ignored the pain. Shoved your unyielding love for him to the back of your mind. You continued your studies, and your dedication to the coven. You aided your cohorts, even Sabrina, in all of the coven’s efforts. Unfortunately, that included helping Nick become a flesh Acheron for Satan, then saving him, and watching from the sidelines as he struggled to cope with the lingering effects of being trapped in his own body with the Devil. Eventually, there came a time when the coven experienced a small dose of reprieve. Hecate became your new deity, the coven’s powers were restored, the Pagans had been driven out of Greendale, and all seemed to be right with the world. Drinking away your troubles, alone in your room with a hundred-year-old bottle of Scotch, had sounded like a fine way to spend a Monday evening – until Nick walked up to you, as you sat outside on the stairs of the Academy, enjoying the cool night air.
“Hey.”
One word. One, simple word was all he mustered up to say to you, despite the fact that it was your first private exchange since the break up. So, you merely echoed it.
“Hey.”
Nick just stood there, before joining you on the stairs, a few feet away from you. The two of you sat there in silence for several minutes before you became the first to speak again.
“Don’t you have some pretty blonde to be hanging out with right now? You know, the one who always made me doubt, yet you constantly assured me I had nothing to worry about?” you retorted, the liquor in your system acting as a conduit for your raw truth. You let out a dry, bitter laugh. “In all honesty, I suppose I can’t blame you for choosing her over me. She’s so much more powerful and skilled than I am. Now that I think about it, she’s the personification of everything I’m insecure about.”
Nick looked at you with sorrowful eyes, before looking away again, as if he couldn’t bear to look at you and see how much pain you were in, even after all this time.
“Sabrina and I broke up.”
The hot mess mixture of feelings that flooded you was practically dizzying. Admittedly, his statement initially filled you with hope. Perhaps this meant he’d give being with you another shot? This was immediately followed by anger – first toward yourself, for being so stupidly optimistic and naïve, then toward him. Did he come here to tell you that, assuming you’d forgive him and everything would go back to the way things were, as if you would be excited to be the consolation prize?
Too dazed by the dichotomy of your thoughts, you said nothing in response. He took your silence as an invitation to continue.
“Turns out, we were a lot less compatible than I originally thought. I thought she was the one. I was willing to die for her…” Nick mused, then trailed off before exhaling and continuing. “I didn’t die, but I did do something much worse – all for her. It didn’t matter in the end, though. We just weren’t meant for each other.”
“You have a lot of nerve to come to me thinking I give a single, solitary fuck about your feelings for her,” you snapped, and your eyes met for a moment then, but he averted his gaze. There was a poignant and tense silence before he spoke again.
“Can I ask you something?” Nick inquired, appearing extremely pensive. “Did you ever stop loving me?”
“No. Not for a second, despite my best efforts,” you replied honestly, and he smiled sadly at your quip as he looked down. “I know we weren’t perfect, but I’ve never felt this way about anyone. That’s why I can’t imagine how you were so okay when I was gone, after we’d broken up…. I guess you didn’t mean what you wrote in that song about me. Because you said ‘forever,’ now I spend every day alone and missing you.”
“I meant every word of that song,” Nick replied earnestly.
“Please don’t, Nick. Let’s just end this conversation here. I don’t even know why we’re discussing this,” you whispered, shaking your head and closing your eyes, as if that would somehow prevent his words from sinking in. You stood and took a couple steps toward the door of the Academy.
“Will you please just hear me out?”
“Why should I?” you yelled, turning to him with a blend of hurt and rage written all over your face, although the rage was what overcame your voice.
“Because I still fucking love you!” Nick shouted, his voice ripe with conviction. He exhaled loudly, then ran his hands over his face and leaned back on the staircase. “In that song, I wrote that I’d love you forever. And you may find it hard to believe, but I’ve never stopped loving you. I won’t deny that I loved Sabrina too, but I’ve realized with hindsight that it was a combination of infatuation and love – more so infatuation. But with you, it was only ever love. A deep, genuine, natural, true love.”
You found yourself somewhere between confused and shocked. What he said made no sense to you, because you’d spent this long believing that he hadn’t given you a second thought since getting with Sabrina. Yet here he was, pouring his heart out to you, and telling you that he still loves you.
Nick stood and took a couple steps toward you, now arm’s length away.
“I know I don’t deserve it, so I won’t fault you in the least if you say no, but…. Would you be willing to give me another chance?”
You looked at him then – really looked at him. You studied him thoroughly, and stared deep into those big, brown eyes of his, which held so much vulnerability, contrition, pain… and love.
“Don’t fuck it up this time, Scratch. I’ll take your life if you do. That’s a promise.”
The very next morning, a beautiful bouquet of blood red roses awaited you in the hallway outside your bedroom door.
A/N: The title says it all so a smut warning is in place.
A = Aftercare
(what they’re like after sex?)
Contrary to many beliefs, Nicholas is incredibly delicate and tender after sex. He will hold you in his arms and gently kiss your head while smelling your hair, until the two of you eventually drift to sleep together.
B = Body Part
(their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Nick definitely has a thing for your ass. His hand deliberately travels down your back until it meets your bum, a slight pinch or slap is certain. He especially enjoys spanking you during sex - not that you’re complaining. You on the other hand adore his lips. Their softness when he kisses you is indescribable, not to mention his smile makes the butterflies in your stomach turn.
C = Cum
(anything to do with cum basically)
When he comes, he comes extensively and hard. When he comes, he looks deep into your eyes. He likes to draw it out as long as he can to savour the moment of pure ecstasy.
D = Dirty Secret
(pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
To your surprise, Nicholas can get quite soft when you’re intimate. He enjoys to tell you how beautiful you are while kissing down your breasts. Before he met you sex was a way to blow off some steam and now he uses it to show how much you mean to him.
E = Experience
(how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
For such a young age, he’s had his fair share of experience. He’s quite proficient in pleasuring you and takes great pride in knowing he makes you feel so good.
F = Favourite Position
(this goes without saying)
Nicky is not picky when it comes to what position to have sex in. He does however quite enjoy when you’re on top. Your face, your neck, your breasts, your stomach, your pussy: all shaking on top of him, what a view! With you on top, his hands are free to roam naturally.
G = Goofy
(are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc.)
Although usually serious in the moment, he doesn't strive away from the occasional joke. He loves the sound of your laugh. The soft giggles mixed with the sound of your light moans turn him on even more.
H = Hair
(how well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
His clean cut ‘everyday’ look is not misleading at all. Nick takes good care of himself to always look his best, naked or not. You're no stranger to catching girls and guys checking your boyfriend out but at least in the bedroom he’s all yours.
I = Intimacy
(how are they during the moment, romantic aspect…)
Nick doesn’t shy away from intimacy, even if he prefers things raw and unrefined. Floating magic candles usually create a nice balance between crass and romantic.
J = Jack Off
(masturbation headcanon)
Not that he doesn't enjoy pleasuring himself Nicky simply favours the thrill of ejaculating with you. He does however take quite relish in watching you touch yourself until your back arches and your eyes roll to the back of your head: release.
K = Kink
(one or more of their kinks)
He quite enjoys when you take control. Whether unintentionally or on purpose, Nicky likes the more dominant side of you. Tell him what to do. Be a little rough. Slap his hands away, pin them down. Moan sweet nothings in his ear.
L = Location
(favourite places to do the do)
You and Nick are quite an open and adventurous couple. There isn’t a place in Greendale that hasn’t been “discovered” by the two of you. Although as strange as this may sound a blanket covered bedroom floor seems to usually play the favourite.
M = Motivation
(what turns them on, gets them going)
Everything about you, plain and simple.
N = NO
(something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Anything that makes you uncomfortable is always off the table. Nick is bold, courageous and seemingly not afraid of anything however he would never do anything to hurt you. If the two are heated in the moment and start to feel brave, Nick always makes sure that first and foremost you are okay with doing what you are about to do.
O = Oral
(preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc,)
Definitely receiving. As you slide your lips gently over his member, Nicks hands immediately grip onto your hair. You’ve become rather skilled at this particular act of pleasure.
P = Pace
(are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
With Nick it’s always about communication. What he derives pleasure in is watching you intuitively and leaning towards what feels natural in the moment. Whether it’s fast and rough or slow and sensual, or a mixture of all. Thrusting in rhythm with your body is what Nick enjoys most.
Q = Quickie
(their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
Nick is not stuck on the idea that sex needs to always be momentous. The two of you can get each other in the mood almost everywhere so why control it? Why tame it? As mentioned earlier, there isn’t a place in Greendale that hasn’t been “discovered” by the two of you.
R = Risk
(are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
With Nick you always feel protected, safe. Even in bed you know he would never do anything that would make you distressed or upset. If you’re willing to take a risk, experiment, than Nick is too.
S = Stamina
(how many rounds can they go for, how long do they last…)
Nick could go for hours but also only for a few minutes. He has a greatly hidden talent of reading your body language. He knows exactly when to speed up or slow things down, exactly right to please you.
T = Toy
(do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
Nick is know to always keeps a few tricks up his sleeve, things are no different in bed. He owns a few objects and quite enjoys using them - especially with you.
U = Unfair
(how much they like to tease)
The bigger tease in the relationship is you. Wearing clothes that wrap tightly around your figure, showing off everything that Nick enjoys - especially your ass.
V = Volume
(how loud they are, what sounds they make)
He’s not ashamed of pleasure and he definitely likes to show when he’s enjoying himself. Nothing stays hidden through his moans, grunts and scuffs.
W = Wild Card
(random headcanon for the character)
Before you and Nick got together you were one of the only girls he had a trouble talking to. He fell hard, like he’s never fallen before. His pathetic attempts at flirting with you were talk of the Academy. Good thing you made the first move.
X = X-Ray
(let’s see what’s going on in those pants)
More important than size is that he knows what to do with it.
Y = Yearning
(how high is their sex drive?)
He’s always in the mood. If he doesn’t have to control himself then he doesn't It’s quite simple, Nick is completely and utterly addicted to the way you make him feel. He longs for your touch, to feel your soft skin against his. You’re irresistible.
Z = ZZZ
(… how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Sleep often becomes the last thing on your mind after sex. The two of you usually get lost in a deep conversation about nothing and everything all at once, usually retelling heated moments that just passed. Nick calls you beautiful, mesmerising, amazing, incredible as he trails kisses across your neck. The kisses tend to lead to round two before sleep is even considered.

“Aunt Zelda!” Sabrina shouted, looking for her aunt in the crowd of people.
“Sabrina. What’s wrong?” Aunt Z said, pushing past people to get to her niece.
“Where’s Y/N? Have you seen Y/N?”
Zelda shook her head, eyes scanning the room for her.
“I don’t think she came, Aunt Z. And she’s a firstborn. If she’s by herself, then she’s going to die.”
Aunt Zelda gave her a sympathetic look, placing her hand on Sabrina’s shoulder.
“I need to go get her,” Sabrina said, turning to leave. Zelda caught her arm before she could.
“No, Sabrina, we need you here. I am sorry for Ms. Y/L/N’s circumstance, but I can’t let you put yourself in danger.”
Sabrina wanted to be angry, but she knew her aunt was right. If they stood any chance of saving the humans, Sabrina had to be here.
----
“Are you going to do something?” Harvey asked, looking nervously between the door and Nick.
“I am doing something, farm boy,” Nick spat, trying hard to concentrate on the spell he was casting. It was hard with Y/N frequently racing through his mind. He had to constantly remind himself that she was at the high school, safe with Sabrina and her aunts. Sighing, he closed his eyes, trying to pull his focus back to the Latin spilling out of his mouth.
“Nick.”
Was that… Sabrina?
He immediately stopped talking and opened his eyes. Sure enough, Sabrina was standing by the door, staring at Nick.
“What the--” Harvey started to say, but Nick cut him off.
“What are you doing here?” He asked, a little agitated.
“I’m not here. I’m astral projecting.”
“Okay, then what do you need. I told you that I’d take care of farm boy over here.”
“This is about Y/N.”
Nick’s heart stopped.
“What about her?”
“She’s not at the high school. She’s still at home, Nick.”
He took a step towards her, his breath picking up.
“What do you mean? I thought you said she knew to come?”
“She did, but she’s not here. I need you to help her.”
Nick looked over at Harvey and then back at Sabrina, he nodded. Before he could say anything else, Sabrina vanished.
“Thanks for your help,” Harvey said sheepishly, and Nick nodded.
“The protection spell should hold, but blockade the door once I’m gone, just in case.”

Y/N was half-sitting, half-laying in the mud of her front yard, her leg trapped beneath a fallen tree. She could feel the bones in her leg snap when it fell, and she had been stuck here, out in the pouring rain ever since. She was 100% certain that this was how she was going to die. She couldn’t tell the difference between the raindrops and tears on her face, but she didn't care to. She tried to occupy herself with pleasant thoughts, to combat the throbbing pain from her legs. She smiled when she thought of her friends.
----
"Sabrina, I feel like I haven't seen you in forever," Y/N said, nudging her friend with the elbow as they both walked through the hallway.
"That's because we haven't seen each other in forever," she admitted, smiling sadly. "We really need to hang out."
They made their way out of the school, strolling into the parking lot. Y/N was about to wish Sabrina goodbye when she was cut off.
"Sabrina, Father Blackwood needs you."
Y/N turned to see a guy about her age, dressed in all black, leaning against a car. He had his hands in his pockets and seemed to be addressing Sabrina.
"Nick, what are you doing here? Couldn't you have waited to tell me this until I got home?"
"It's urgent," he said, shrugging. Then his eyes flicked towards Y/N.
"I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting," he said, flashing her a smile. "I'm Nick."
"Y/N," she responded, shaking his outstretched hand. When their hands touched, Y/N swore she felt a jolt of electricity and she pulled away, smiling meekly.
"Um, I'll catch up with you later, okay Y/N?" Sabrina said, turning to leave.
"Wait, wait, wait. Who's Father Blackwood? Sabrina what's--"
"I'll explain everything later," she assured, turning away. As they began to walk away, Nick spared a glance back at Y/N to find her watching him, a small smile on her lips.
----
She groaned when she thought about Nick. She was never going to be able to tell him how she felt. She would never be able to tell him how annoyingly perfect his hair is, or how he makes emo look sexy, or how he made her feel appreciated. She jumped when thunder boomed through the sky, quickly followed by a flash of lightning. God, she hated storms when she was inside. And now she was out here trapped under a tree, probably dying, and it was infinitely worse.
"Y/N!"
Her ears perked up at the sound of a voice, and she tried her best to twist around to see who was there. This only caused her a great deal of pain, and she cried out.
"Help!"
She was about to scream for help again when a figure emerged in her front yard, not ten feet away from her.
"Oh, shit," Nick said, racing towards where she was. He knelt down beside her, quickly assessing the damage.
"The tree feel down while I was leaving. I think my leg is broken."
"Okay, it's gonna be okay," he assured, his voice barely audible over the pounding rain. "I'm gonna try and push it away from you, okay? I need you to pull your leg out from under it."
"Nick, it's a fucking tree. You can't lift it."
"Y/N, I'm gonna need you to trust me, okay? Now, when I say go, I need you to pull your legs out from under the tree, got it?"
She nodded, watching him with confusion.
He stuck his hands out in front of him, not even touching the tree, and he closed his eyes.
"Nick, what are you--"
She stopped talking when she saw his lips moving, forming words she couldn't hear.
"Nick, what are you saying?!"
She was so focused on Nick that when she felt the pressure of the tree disappear, she snapped her head towards it. Sure enough, the tree was levitating a few inches above her. She screamed. Then she remembered her legs and she dragged herself away from the fallen tree. As soon as she did, Nick stopped his chanting and the tree unceremoniously dropped back to the ground.
"Nick, what the hell was that?"
He didn't give her time to answer, because he picked her up bridal style, carrying her back inside her house. Once she was inside, and the roar of the storm was muted, she asked again.
"Nick, what the hell was that?"
He didn't answer, he just set her down on the couch, sitting on the coffee table across from it.
----
"Thoreau clearly expresses the ideals of Transcendentalism in his writing. He talks about living in the woods and connecting with nature, and the dangers of falling into routines and habits, and he makes really beautiful points. And so, while he's writing about all that, he's living in a hut in the woods by himself, being all philosophical and such, and I think that means that he was gay."
"Wait, wait, wait," Nick said, clearly dumbfounded by Y/N's logic. "How does Thoreau's Transcendentalist writing make him gay?"
"I just sense it."
"You think Henry David Thoreau was gay."
"No," she said laughing, and Nick furrowed his eyebrows. "I know he was gay."
Nick shook his head, running his hands down his face.
"Your logic, or lack thereof, drives me insane, you know that?" He said, trying to fight back a grin.
"That's what I'm here for, sweetheart," she said, not trying to hide her smile.
"This is nice," Nick admits, eyes scanning the book shop. "I like talking about great literature. I don't get to do that often."
"Yeah, it is," she agreed. "I do talk about it a lot in school, but everyone else hates it. I'm the only one who actually enjoys this shit. You should have heard my rant last month in my English class about how Emily Dickinson was 100% a lesbian."
"Oh my god..." he sighed, plopping his face into his hands.
"She was!" She said, a smile taking over her face.
"And let me guess. Shakespeare is bi and Poe is into bondage."
"That wouldn't surprise me," she stated, her smile growing bigger when a grin appeared on Nick's face. He shook his head again, taking a sip of his tea.
“I’m glad we met, Y/N,” he stated. “You keep my life interesting.”
----
“I’m a warlock.”
She waited for him to crack a smile or burst out laughing, but he didn’t. He looked at her, caution in his eyes, waiting for her to respond. She furrowed her eyebrows.
“What?” she asked, barely audible.
“I’m a warlock, a male witch.”
She slowly nodded, eyebrows raised, taking in his words.
“Are you trying to be funny?”
“No,” he assured, scootching closer to her. “I’m a warlock and I can do magic and I go to The Academy of the Unseen Arts where I learn how to do magic. And out there I did a simple levitation spell to pick up that tree.”
“You did a simple levitation spell,” she repeated slowly, eyes wide.
“Yes. And I can fix your legs if you want me to.”
When she didn’t respond, he closed his eyes, chanting yet again. She caught what sounded like Latin falling from his lips and she furrowed her eyebrows.
And then it happened.
She felt the bones in her legs shifting, rearranging, healing.
“Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, holy shit…”
He kept chanting, and with one final snap, her bones popped back into place.
“HOLY SHIT, NICK,” she cried, her breaths growing ragged.
“Don’t freak out!” He said, holding his hands out in front of him.
“DON’T FREAK OUT? YOU JUST DID SOME WEIRD VOODOO SHIT ON ME, I’M GONNA FREAK OUT.”
She stood up, surprised when her legs didn’t crumble underneath her. She started pacing, tugging her hands through her hair.
“Y/N, you need to calm down, okay? If you sit down and listen, I can explain everything.”
“Oh my god, I can’t believe this, You’re a fucking wizard.”
“Warlock,” he corrected.
“What?”
“I’m a warlock. Not a wizard.”
“That’s what you’re gonna focus on right now? Seriously?”
She sat back down on the couch, leaning her elbows on her knees.
“Why the hell did you keep this from me? Does Sabrina know?”
At that, Nick let out an awkward chuckle, coming to sit next to her on the couch.
“About that. She’ll probably hate me for being the one to tell you, but she’s a witch.”
“SABRINA’S A WITCH?” she cried, standing back up again. “MY BEST FRIEND SINCE PRESCHOOL IS A FUCKING WITCH AND I DIDN’T KNOW!?”
“Surprise?”
“fUCK.”
“She was just protecting you; she didn’t--”
“Okay, no. None of that ‘I didn’t tell you to protect you’ bullshit.” She groaned, sitting back down next to Nick. “So, like, were you born with magic or did you have to, like, sacrifice a virgin to get it.”
Nick laughed at that, shaking his head. “No, it’s something you're born with.”
“Is the storm some kind of witchy stuff?”
“Uh, yeah,” he said, nodding. “A witch created this storm so all the humans would gather together at the high school. So we could protect them.”
“Why?”
“Well, the 13 original witches that were hung here are back from the dead to get revenge.”
She stood up, yet again, pulling at her hair.
“Are you serious, Nick!? I would have opened with that! Jesus Christ!”
Nick stood up, following her when she stomped into the kitchen.
“Y/N, everything is going to be fine. I won’t let them hurt you.”
“Hurt me?! Why would they want to hurt me?!” she asked, her breaths growing quick and shallow.
Nick opened his mouth, then shut it again. He looked at her, staring at him with desperation in her eyes.
“They’re killing every firstborn.”
Her breathing stopped.
“Holy shit I’m going to die…”
“You’re not going to die, Y/N, okay? I’m not going to let them get to you! Sabrina is finding a way to stop them.”
Tears started falling freely from her eyes, and she placed her hand on her forehead, shutting her eyes.
Nick came to stand in front of her, placing his hands on her shoulders.
“Hey, look at me.”
She lifted her eyes to meet his, tears staining her cheeks.
“You are safe, okay? I will not let them kill you.”
She nodded, trying hard to believe his words. When he opened his arms, she fell into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his waist. He held onto her, placing a hand on the back of her head and planting a kiss on her hair. She was the first to pull away, eyes searching his. It doesn’t matter who closed the distance between them, because suddenly their lips were touching. She cradled his face in her hands as he deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue into her mouth. He grabbed onto her hips, pulling her impossibly close to him. He backed her up against the counter and lifted her up, so she was sitting on the countertop. His lips trailed along her jaw and made their way to her neck, biting and sucking so there would definitely be hickeys there tomorrow. She didn’t try to hide the moan the escaped her throat.
“Nick, I need you…” she whimpered and Nick pulled away to look at her.
“Are you sure?”
She nodded.
“I need you to say it, princess.”
“Yes.”
She hopped off the counter and led Nick upstairs to her bedroom. He didn’t waste any time, already pulling his shirt over his head. She laid back on the mattress, and he was quick to follow, hovering over her. And then his lips were on hers again. He used one hand to prop himself up and the other found her waist, pulling her body impossibly close to his. He tugged at the hem of her shirt and she broke the kiss to pull it over her head. He took a second to take her in before burying his face in her neck, leaving love bites as he did. He trailed down to her collarbone, and when he made his way to her chest, he unclasped her bra in one motion, throwing it aside. Without hesitating, he took her nipple into his mouth, rolling the other with his fingers. She moaned, back arching. He made his way further down, leaving a trail of kisses down her stomach. He looked up at her when he reached her waistband, silently asking for permission. She nodded eagerly and he smirked, pulling down her leggings and her panties together. He peppered kisses along the inside of her thighs, ignoring where she needed him most. He laughed when she groaned, looking up at her between her thighs. With no warning, he licked a stripe up her heat, never breaking eye contact, and she moaned, closing her eyes and gripping the sheets with her fists. His hands found her clit and he rolled it between his fingers, causing her to squirm beneath his touch. He slowly slid a finger into her, and she whimpered, her hips bucking up to meet his hand. He added another finger, pumping them into to her at an agonizingly slow pace.
“Nick…” she groaned.
“What, sweetheart?”
“I need you. Now.”
He didn’t need to be told again. He pulled his fingers from her and crawled up the bed, placing a soft kiss on her lips.
“Do you have a condom?” he asked.
“Can’t you place some spell or something to keep me from getting pregnant?”
“Yeah. It’s called a condom.”
She shook her head and reached into her nightstand, pulling a foil package from her drawer. He took it from her and fumbled to open it. She giggled when he failed, unable to tear it. Before he could embarrass himself further, she took it from him, ripping it open with her teeth. He took that opportunity to free himself of his pants and underwear.
She rolled the condom onto his length, pumping it a few times. He groaned and closed his eyes. She lined him up with her entrance and he slid into her, completely bottoming out. They both moaned in unison, her hands coming to wrap around his biceps.
“Ah, fuck, Y/N… so tight.”
“Move, Nick.”
He obeyed, setting a steady pace. His lips found hers, their tongues battling for dominance. He quickened his pace, pounding into her. Obscenities mixed with his name fell from her lips and he didn’t think he’d ever heard a sweeter sound.
“Nick, I’m gonna…”
“Me too, babe. Come for me.”
At his words, the knot in her stomach came undone, and she fell apart underneath him. He was quick to follow, burying his face in her neck as he came. They stayed there for a minute, entangled in each other. All too soon, he pulled out, tossing the condom in the trash and plopping down next to her on the bed. They both laid in silence, catching their breaths.
“Wow,” he sighed, turning his head to face her.
“Yeah,” she said, eyes meeting his.
“Wait,” he said, furrowing his brows. “The storm stopped.”
“Does that mean we won?”
“I think it does,” he said, smiling.
“Well, I think that’s cause for celebration,” she said wiggling her brows.
“You wanna go for round two? Woman, I’m still recovering from round one!”

It’s 5 AM when you wake with a start. Your face is hot and there’s hair sticking to your forehead. You already can’t remember which nightmare it was that jolted you from your sleep, they’ve all blurred into one by now.
Your hands are clammy, as you lift yourself into a sitting position against your nest of pillows and calm your racing heartbeat. Soft early summer light filters through the blinds and casts dancing patterns on the floorboards of your attic room, chasing the shadows of the night into hiding. You smile, imagining a world in which darkness only exists in dreams. Your familiar, a small statured Spaniel, watches you intently from his bed by the door. You exchange a silent understanding and he settles back into sleep. You notice that cobwebs adorn the highest corner of your ceiling, and just as you make a note to deal with them presently, the figure next to you stretches his arms and yawns widely.
Nick squints against the morning sun which decorates his face with a golden glow. He reaches for you with his eyes closed and when he finds your body is not lying peacefully next to his, he turns to look up at you in confusion. Your name is a murmur on his lips and you reach your hand to settle in his hair. Waves fall over his eyes in his unpolished state – the state only you get to see.
‘Nightmares?’ he whispers, scrutinising your face, a little knot of concerned wrinkles folding between his eyebrows.
You nod solemnly and he rests his face on you thigh in defeat. When he looks up again he seems so small and powerless, you can see that his worry for you consuming him. He motions for you to join him, and you wiggle back down to lie next to him. Your nightmares had become so frequent, you had begun to dread falling asleep. The only peace you found was in Nick, and his ability to bring some happiness into your waking hours. He is a master of distraction. In this bed, graced by sunlight, inhabited by darkness, your faces almost touch as he mutters words of consolation, searching your eyes and kissing your forehead in turn. He stresses over your nightmares, they aren’t a good sign in any world or strand of belief. And he can see how much they are eating you up from the inside. He holds you close, and eventually you fall into sleep once more. Sunlight dances over two bodies, clinging to one another. One in desperation and one in disbelief. A disbelief that he could ever love like the mortals do. He refuses to lose you to the darkness that gnaws away. Curses can be lifted, he assures himself. Nightmares go away.
~
Your sleep was uncharacteristically peaceful, wrapped up safely in Nick’s arms, where nothing bad could surely reach you. A smile warms your face as you wake to find the two of you bundled together, tangled with sheets and each other. As you both pull yourselves from the draws of remaining in bed for the foreseeable future, you watch him closely. His body is silhouetted in the window, soft light dappled on his skin. He runs an absentminded hand through his hair and it sticks up on end. He turns and catches you staring, smirking knowingly.
There is a determination in him today. He’s going to the library, he says.
He places kisses on your face, holding your chin in his hand.
And you think to yourself, as you watch him leave, so filled up with love and his kisses lingering on your skin, that maybe your reality right now, with him, was a dream after all.

Notes: I’ve been watching CAOS, and I saw a clip from the show Good Girls that inspired the dialogue for this fic.
It was evident to most at the Academy of Unseen Arts that you weren’t the typical witch. You were kind, thoughtful, and constantly worried about how others perceived you. You were well aware that the vast majority of your cohorts deemed you peculiar, and out of place in the Church of Night, so it was important to you that they at least knew you were more than sufficiently astute and competent. That was why it was crucial to you that your tutoring meetings with a certain warlock remained secret.
Conjuring had never been your strong suit. You were proficient in spells, incantations, potions – anything else, you name it. Just not conjuring. Fearing that a poor grade in Conjuring would be a hit to your reputation as an intelligent, well-versed witch, you enlisted the help of Nicholas Scratch.
He was one of very few peers who showed you continual kindness. You were aware of his background: growing up with his werewolf familiar, living in the wilderness until stumbling upon the Academy. In turn, he was aware of your history as well, and seemed to view you as a kindred spirit. However, Nick was aware of his player reputation, so he knew that hanging out with you would give the impression that he was sleeping with you, being that it was unheard of for him to be merely friends with a member of the opposite sex – and you were vehemently against tarnishing your image in such a way. He also knew that outright befriending you would paint a target on your back for the Weird Sisters, especially now that he had recently broken up with them, and they were still vying for his affection. So, the two of you opted to remain acquaintances, occasionally chatting about magical history, potions, or merely sharing a polite exchange about how your days were going.
Although you’d have rather cut off your own foot than admit it to another living soul, you had – against your will – developed a crush on the handsome, sharp, kind-hearted young man. This made you all the more willing to ask him to tutor you in Conjuring – aside from the fact that you genuinely needed his assistance.
“Remind me again why we have to go through all this trouble just for a tutoring session?” Nick inquired one evening, as you two downed a potion to grant you invisibility, before sneaking off to a little-known room in the attic of the Academy. He grimaced slightly at the taste of it as you both dematerialized.
“Because, if anyone were to see us, they’re going to want to know what someone like me is doing with someone like you,” you responded matter-of-factly. Both of you climbed the staircase up to the attic, and after shutting and locking the door behind you, you handed him the potion to reverse the invisibility. He knocked it back with ease, despite grimacing slightly once again, and set the glass vial on the table next to him. Nick stared at you for a few moments, mirth growing in his eyes, before taking a few smooth strides toward you.
“What are you doing with someone like me?” he asked, his tone teasing and curious, as he came to a stop mere inches away from you. “You could have asked anyone for help. But you chose to sneak around with me instead. Why is that?”
He smelled like sandalwood and leather, and it was practically intoxicating. You shook your head to regain control of your racing thoughts and re-focus on the present.
“Obviously I can’t tell them why,” you answered, defensiveness creeping into your voice. Nick didn’t pressure you to elaborate, as he already understood your meaning. He was aware that everyone was incredibly quick to judge you, and that you didn’t want to give them a reason to.
“Right, right….” A small smirk then formed on Nick’s lips. “Well, that potion is disgusting. I’d really rather not keep doing that every time. So, just tell them we’re fucking.”
“What?”
“Oh I’m sorry, sweetheart. Tell them… we’re making love,” Nick said, clearly teasing you on account of your horror at his initial statement.
You stammered for a moment, and even let out a dry, awkward laugh – which only amused him more – before managing to ask, “How would I even say that? Why would I even say that?”
A broad grin overcame Nick’s smirk.
“You’ll think of something. Besides, you’re so heaven-bent on exceeding expectations, and there’s nothing they’d expect less than for you to be sleeping around with me,” Nick noted, then took your books from your hands, as you stood there with your jaw hanging open. “Just make me sound good though, alright? Now, let’s get started on your conjuring homework.”
As you stood there for a moment longer in stunned silence, you absorbed the fact that this whole tutoring setup was going to be the death of you.

The academy was always quiet on a Friday night. Every witch and warlock dressed up head to toe to enjoy the one night of the week they could truly do whatever they wanted.
Echo bounced through the empty halls of the school. While your fellow students left to get wasted, you headed for the library. The solitude and peace was exactly what you needed after a long week, plus partying the night away wasn't really your style.
You made yourself comfortable, placing the book down at the table in front of you. Your fingers trailed the cover slowly before you opened the page you were previously on.
In an instant you were absorbed, almost in a trance, your mind racing with every read word. You studied the sentences, eyebrows furrowed and eyes squinting in concentration.
“Why am I not surprised to find you here?” A familiar voice rang in your ear. You looked up from your book for a brief second to find Nick hovering over you with a cheeky smile. “Leave me alone Nick.” You breathed ducking your head back in your novel.
Nick ignored your request and sat down beside you.
“So what are you reading?” He enquired. When you didn't respond he raised his hand from his lap and with two fingers lifted the book cover, your skin brushed against his causing you to momentarily hold your breath.
“Ah, ‘Madame Bovary’.” He let his hand fall. “An infinity of passion can be contained in one minute, like a crowd in a small space.” Nick quoted. Surprised at his knowledge of the novel, you tilted your head slightly and locked eyes with the dark haired warlock. There was a brief moment of shared silence.
“Surprised?” Nicholas teased. “A little actually.” You indulged him, as he beamed at you. “I’m not just a handsome face Y/N.” Nick responded still smiling.
You rolled your eyes and let your head fall back into the book in front of you. Trying to read on and ignore the presence of the dark haired warlock, you let out a soft sigh.
“Read to me.” “What?” “Come on Y/N, read to me.”
He shuffled his chair a little closer to you so that your arms were now touching.
Knowing that he wasn’t going to give up that easily you cleared your throat and went back to the beginning of the sentence you were just on.
“At the bottom of her heart, however, she was waiting for something to happen. Like shipwrecked sailors, she turned despairing eyes upon the solitude of her life, seeking afar off some white sail in the mists of the horizon.”
Nick was lost in the sound of your voice - in a trance. He was so mesmerised he could barely concentrate on the words.
“She did not know what this chance would be, what wind would bring it her, towards what shore it would drive her, if it would be a shallop or a three-decker, laden with anguish or full of bliss to the portholes.”
From the corner of your eye, you could see Nick leaning forward. He crossed his arms on the table as if they were a pillow and lay his head down, still watching you intensively.
“But each morning, as she awoke, she hoped it would come that day; she listened to every sound, sprang up with a start, wondered that it did not come; then at sunset, always more saddened, she longed for the morrow.”
That night you finished the book. Nick listened to every word, quoting out loud parts familiar to him. He walked you back to your room and promised that next week he’d bring the book, before placing a kiss on your cheek.
