Watching OJ: Made in America.
I was a junior in high school when OJ Simpson was acquitted of murdering Nicole Brown.
We were in school at the time and the teachers, knowing the trial of the century could not be ignored, had TVs pulled into classrooms. Classes were combined so as many students could watch the verdict.
We all watched, eyes glued to the TV. He was guilty. I felt it in my bones and thought He would be found guilty.
Of course, we all know the outcome.
As soon as the verdict was read...every boy in the class I was in cheered. The sound was deafening.
Every girl sat stone cold silent. Stunned.
I will never forget how all those boys were celebrating the murder of one of us.
That is hate. Pure hate.
