three bangs. ruby sat staring at a closed door. by now nicolette should be used to the blonde randomly stopping by when she wanted just because she needed company to keep her always moving mind busy. and since she was avoiding work she needed an excuse to do something, anything else. “nic, nic, nicoletteeeee! i need to see you right now.” three more bangs on the door and she was still face to face with wood. “look, nic! open up. i need an adventure and only you can come with me. i missed you all week, i didn’t even see you in hawaii!” all of this as she yelled in the hall.

sometimes i think of nic when im falling asleep. if i get scared, i think of her. i think of her because she has shown me how i can be brave, she gave me something that i didn’t know i had, the dark still scares me but there is a piece of me that is a lot stronger than it used to be and its all because of her. there is no woman i could ever think who is so passionate and open. and even though i always feel like i can’t give her enough i still try because she deserves it. there are some people you can meet and not really think much of but that isn’t her, shes got this thing that leaves a huge imprint in your chest and leaves you feeling so warm. like a heavy blanket. i love nicolette. i just hope she knows that.

 “ah...” was all dante had started to say as he watched heavy eyes begin to close and that slow rock as nic fought to stay awake. “the movie... just started.” he said though in a hushed tone still not to wake her during her haze. after a few drinks it was apparent they just needed a chill movie night but she was falling quick and soon her head his his lap and he couldn’t move. “yeah, sure. im just you’re living pillow. awesome.” he said to himself shaking his head as he let nic continue sleeping.

ruby noticed how to pick up when nic was in a slump. which was why ruby had came to nic’s rescue by bringing her a whole chicagoian themed get well box. a nice warm chicago sweater, socks, and pj pants. all the shameless seasons on DVD (even if they are on netflix), and a big deep dish pizza. she didn’t expect the reason to be so intense as she was pulled into the tightest hug she’d gotten fin a while but she returned it. “i figure you needed a lift me up.”
