Huaisang rubbed his cheeks against his pillow, then he turned his head enough so that his mouth wasn't smothered against the pillowcase. "He's on a date, A-Niang," he said quite pitifully. "A date. With a girl. That his mother introduced him to."
"Who's on a date, Baobei?"
Huaisang hiccuped, and his shoulders shook again. "Jiang-xiong."
She glanced over at Yaling, and they traded raised eyebrows. Jiang Cheng was one of her son's two best friends and he'd never given any inkling that his feelings for the other boy might be anything other than friendship.
