Niffty leaned back against the lobby couch, her usual hyperactive energy smoothed into an oddly serene haze. The oversized bong in her lap let out a satisfying blorp as she took another slow hit, her eye half-lidded, her grin dreamy and far-off.
She exhaled, watching the smoke swirl lazily through the air, mesmerized by how it danced in the dim light. "Whoa... it’s like... cleaning the air... from the inside..." she murmured, her voice slower than usual, almost thoughtful.
Her attention suddenly flicked to the bong’s water, and with a slightly dazed expression, she scooped it up, looking at the liquid with something akin to curiosity. "Gotta keep it fresh…" she mumbled softly before lifting it to her lips and drinking the water in one go. The motion was smooth, almost practiced, and yet there was an odd satisfaction in it as she sighed contentedly afterward.
Her eye lazily drifted toward the ceiling, where a cobweb swayed in the corner. Normally, she’d be scaling the walls in an instant, duster in hand and war cries on her lips. But right now?
"Y'know what?" she mumbled, stretching like a cat. "You get to live today, mister cobweb… enjoy it while it lasts."
She let out a slow, contented giggle, sinking even deeper into the couch like she was becoming one with it. Maybe 4/20 wasn’t such a bad holiday after all.
