Shance headcanon: Lance actually found 'unshaven' Shiro to be ruggedly handsome, and even likes 'Kuron's' hair cut more then the old one.

maybe shiro doesn’t cut his hair when he come back right away. maybe he keeps it long for a few days as coran searches the castle for his “grandpop’s trusty old shears.” so maybe he has to deal with his hair in his eyes for a while and maybe he puts it up so he can actually get some training done. lance walks by the training room while his hair is such, and nearly falls over at the sight of shiro with a man-bun. he’s always known he had a crush on shiro, it’s basically the whole reason he’s even in space. but this......this is too much. his brain and heart are on overdrive at the sight of shiro with a man-bun and stubble in a tank top working out. it’s too much man all in one. he’s so rugged and lance wishes he could be the bot shiro’d just thrown across the floor. he secretly hopes shiro won’t keep the hair for much longer because he’ll never be able to make eye contact with him again without melting into the floor.

a day later and coran’s found the shears and takes it upon himself to cut shiro’s hair. he tries to get as close as possible, but ends up cutting the bangs too short and the rest not short enough. “it’s okay” shiro says, just happy to have the hair out of his eyes. when he walks back into the bridge, lance has to control himself all over again but for a different reason. the new haircut is a little silly but his eyes. lance can actually see shiro’s eyes in a way he couldn’t with his old haircut, and they’re so beautiful. he holds in his blush to throw shiro a “you’re looking better” and savors the way those eyes fall to him, if for only a brief moment.

now that shiro’s been put back into the body of the clone, (which in itself has given lance a whirlwind of emotions, but he carries on) his hair is shock white. it’s lance’s favorite of all shiro’s hairstyles. he looks like starlight and lance loves running his fingers through it as shiro stares at him lovingly with those deep grey eyes.

if you’re okay with blood. like, a lot of blood. it’s pretty dang gory at times.

but yes. absolutely yes. it wasn’t until after i watched the first season and looked it up that i learned that this is a video game adaptation. and it’s a really good video game adaptation. a great video game adaptation, even.

the animation, voice acting, music, direction, all of it comes together beautifully. and the writing. oh, my god the writing. the writing is phenomenal. the first season is short too, but it’s so much fun you don’t realize it until it’s over and you’re left going “that’s it? but I want more”

thank you. We’re all coming at this from different places and its a good thing when we can all recognize and respect each other that way. Who we were, along with the choices we make, makes us into who we are, and I’m sorry I went through it but not sorry for who I was when I came out on the other side (well, after I’d had some time to polish lol). It’s always interesting finding those little buried instinctive responses buried under things after so much time has passed though and I really appreciate you understanding that I’m coming from a personal place with my decision and not a ‘fandom’ or ‘canon’ or ‘this is Everyone’s Truth’ place. I appreciate the tags and I hope you have a wonderful time enjoying the new pieces VLD has given us.
