Avant-garde studio production from Irish musician Nigel Rolfe. At the time South Africa was an apartheid state which had had the support of Western leaders. There was a major effort by progressives around the world to bring attention on the plight of South Africa, this is the subject of "African Flower." In 1986 legislation was passed by the US to sanction South Africa but it will take another 6-years before the apartheid comes to an end. These dark episodes in humanity should be history but as we're learning we can't take progressive victories for granted. People with power and money will try and erode your rights. The Christian right are going after 'empathy' in the US right now... empathy! freakin' scary psychopaths
