Day was hopping around from the top of pine trees on a small hill. A hop to the left, a hop to the right, and two more hops to the right because she accidentally intruded a nest of newly hatched swallows and the mother bird got furiously irritated. While she stopped to catch her breath, her eyes wandered to the land far below and saw

a solitary cloud in the blue sky of noon

a field of yellow daffodils languid and swoon

a green caterpillar still sleeping in his brown cocoon

a silver fish in a brook awaiting the soft-white moon

a farmer in the shade having his little snooze

and a hurricane in a distance about to coming soon.

Suddenly, she remembered Night and all of his gentle winds from a faraway time.
